New york , New york , New york! I'm going to New york with my best friend forever ; getting away from our toxic families to go to an all boys school! Or at least that's what I heard my mom telling Gabs mom.

Hold on let's pause the story there, my name is Joy my best friends name is Gabbie and yes she's white and I am black we don't care but our parents do. Believe me, Gabbie and I are not happy about being shipped off to an all-boys school were happy about getting away from our families, cause right now Gabbie is my only family, were like sisters; but anyway let's get back to the story.

"It's going to be hella fun but I gotsta tell Gab. " I rushed back up stairs and into my room to grab my phone to call Gabbie.

"Hey, gurl!" Gab shouted from the other end of the line.

"Gabbie, I have to tell you something it's really really good news," I shouted back into the phone squealing like the girly girl I'm not.

" Matter of fact, come to my house it's too good to tell over the phone."

"Kk, I'll be right over." I hung up the phone and ran to my window and opened it up so she can get through.

Now you know how much our parents don't want us to be friends, they are really over dramatic sometimes.

" So what's the 'really good news' that you can't tell me over the phone."

I quickly snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Gab's voice.

"Okay Gab, don't get too-" I was cut off by two voices calling our names they sounded familiar almost like our parents, When did they get here? Gabbie and I froze in our steps not expecting this at all, we started to make our way out of my room and down the stairs.

By the time we hit the last step all the whispering and murmuring stopped and not much to our surprise there were our parents sitting down in the exact same position when there about to say some bad news. Gabbie and I took our seats right in front of our parents. It was silent until Gabbie's mom spoke up and broke the silence.

"Girls since you two can't stop being friends which is in fact really irritating us and hurting our image we decided to send you two away ."

Wow, there so dramatic sending us away cause it's "hurting your image".

Now, this time, my mother spoke up " Right, you two are leaving today and the school is just dying to see you, considering it is almost the middle of the year, okay that's all. She said before showing us off so we can go pack.

They dropped us off at the airport without saying a word but we don't care were going to new york!!

"Oh yeah, Gab,"

"Sup."

"It's an all-boys school, I guess they didn't want to tell us just to make us go crazy but not today," I whispered. She stopped dead in her tracks and started fist pumping the air, can't lie it really was funny.
