"THIS ONE IS CUTE." Riley squeals, holding up a pale pink dress.  It was silky and knee length, "Please, please try it on, Maya."

Maya sighs, caving in because she doesn't want to hear about how she never wants to wear anything.  She takes the dress from her friends and goes into the dressing room.  She sets the dress on the hanger and starts to strip.  "How does it look?" Riley chimes, excitement ridden in her voice.

"Calm down, Riles.  I just got in here." She chuckles as she sets her jeans on the small bench.  Maya picks up the dress, holding it against he body as she stares at her image in the mirror.  Her belly is poking out a lot this week, you could practically tell she was over thirty weeks pregnant, unlike before when it was a slight bulge.  Her small frame couldn't protect her anymore and the whole school would definitely know her secret soon enough.  She didn't want that.

"Maya?"

"Oh, uhm, yeah." She shakes her thoughts away as she removes the hanger from the dress and starts to slip into it, "Yeah, I'm putting it in now."

Maya looks herself up in down through the mirror, turning the side a bit to see her figure.  She looked stunning, and she'd hate to admit that.  Only because if she did, it'd be like she was "glorifying" the fact that she, a sixteen year old, looked good with her pregnant belly.  And she didn't like the idea of that, especially with the way her mom was acting about the whole thing.  "I'm done.  It looks alright, can I take it off now?"

"No! Ofcourse not, I wanna see!" Riley squeals.  Maya sighs, slowly opening the door but being sure not to step out.  She didn't want anyone but Riley to see her.  When her eyes land on her bestie, she nearly screams.  She'd never seen her look so ...elegant!  Used to seeing the ripped jeans and the occasional skirt and tights but never this. "You have to wear that to homecoming."

"Excuse me?  If you haven't noticed I'm super fat right now. Plus I'm probably not even gonna make it." She says, "My due date is like gettin closer so I'll probably be on bed rest by then."

"You won't, please come." She clasps her hands together as she begs.  Maya proceeds to shake her head, she wanted to avoid stares from kids she barely knows as much as humanly possible.

" I hope you change your mind." Riley sighs, "Actually, I've got about a  week, I will break you Maya Hart."

Maya chuckles as she slips her shoes back on. "Let's leave now, please?" Riley nods, "I told

Maya had just gotten home around ten minutes ago, and she was suddenly feeling lonely. Kayla wasn't around as much because she was always working so she'd be able to put food on the table for Maya.  And sure, she had Josh, but she still felt like she had a hole in her heart.

Just as she's about to make her way up the flight of stairs, the doorbell rings with a few knocks behind it.

Maya sighs, twirling around and waddling to the door.  But not before she nearly trips on a blue colored pencil.  Kayla was always leaving her art supplies around the apartment.  The girl makes it to the door and stands on the tip of her toes to look through the peephole.

Unable to see who it is, besides a few strands of hair, she keeps the chain on the door when she pulls it open.  She sees Katy standing there, something in her hands but the door is blocking the rest of her view.  She closes the door again, taking several deep breathes as she reaches to pull the chain off and open the door at a wider span.

"Hi, Maya." Katy speaks.  Her voice is shaky, possibly because she hadn't spoken to her daughter in what felt like forever. She'd missed her, she really had, but after her last interaction with her she wasn't sure it was best to bother her.

"Wha--what are you doing here?"

"I, uhm," Katy looks down to some of the bags in her hands, "I brought some groceries.  Thought it'd help since its best to eat lots of food. And I brought some pills, they're prenatal --good for the pregnancy"

Unsure of the reason why, Maya felt water starting to pool from her irises.  Maybe it was the fact that her mother had driven a mere hour and a half just to visit her.  Maybe it was that even after everything-- she'd still decided to make sure her daughter was eating enough.  Maybe it was that Katy seemed to finally be accepting her situation, or maybe it was simply the hormones, but Maya was bawling her eyes out.

"I'm so sorry." Maya cried, "I know you were mad at me, and I understand why.  I was so stupid."

"No, Maya." Katy sets the bags onto the tile floor as she walks closer into the house, "I'm the one at fault, I'm the one that needs to be apologizing.  The things I did and the things I said were horrible.  I shouldn't have kicked you out.  I was just ..." She sighs, hugging her daughter.

"It was so much to take in and I just, snapped.  But I've been seeing a therapist, I've been getting better, for you.  And for this baby."

Maya nods her head, she was glad Katy wasn't angry with her anymore.  The simple act of finally talking with her again without being yelled act or looked down upon warmed her heart.
