An idea I had a while ago about when the doctor says goodbye to River. By this I basically mean the scene where he sent her to the library. Enjoy!

The Doctor threw the blue and white checkered blanket over the grass with care. After doing so, he dashed back into the TARDIS, grabbing the wicker picnic basket filled with wine, bread, and all other sorts of delicious foods. He stepped out of the TARDIS once more, placing the picnic basket on the blanket, himself next to it.

"I got your message." a voice suddenly said from behind the TARDIS.

"River!" The Doctor shouted, standing up and opening his arms.

"Hello sweetie." River said, coming around the TARDIS, falling into The Doctor's warm embrace. "Now, where are we?" River pulled out her journal filled with memories of The Doctor. "Mine's nearly full." She said in surprise. She looked up into The Doctor's deep, brown eyes with fear.

"I've still got plenty left." The Doctor said, showing River The empty pages of his journal. He smiled at her and sat down on the picnic blanket, River following.

They ate and joked for hours, telling each other stories they had told a hundred times before.

"River." The Doctor asked, looking into River's eyes.

"What?"

"You're older than I've ever seen you before."

A look of fear appeared on River's face. The Doctor reached into his pocket and pulled out his sonic screwdriver and held it out to River. "Now, River, I need you to take this." The Doctor said quietly.

"No, no, I can't leave you." River protested.

"Please, River." The Doctor said, a tear escaping his eye. River begrudgingly took the sonic and set it aside. She pushed back The Doctor's messy, ginger hair and moved her face closer to his. She kissed him sweetly, and he kisses back passionately, knowing it will be the last kiss she will share with him.

"Now, River, I'm going to tell you something That you must never tell anyone but me" The Doctor leaned over and whispered something in River's ear. "Now, With that, Doctor River Song, it'time to go to the library." a tear rolled down the sad Doctor's cheek as he said the last words.

River pressed her forehead against The Doctor's and whispered "I love you." She stood up and began to walk away, into the woods. The Doctor suddenly realized He had made a mistake and he was not going to make it again.

"River!" He shouted after the love of his life as he stood up and began to chase after her. He put his arms around her waist as she turned around, quickly pressing his lips to hers. "I love you." he said. He let go of his wife and watched her dissapear into the forest.

The Doctor walked back and cleaned up after the picnic site and flew away in his TARDIS, eyes burning from tears. The TARDIS landed and the doors opened slowly, revealing a much younger River.

"Doctor?" River said, walking deeper into the TARDIS. The Doctor turned around, showing his tear stained eyes. River rushed to his side and put her arms around him, absorbing his sobs.
