next morning, at Incheon International Airport...

My phone buzzed for what seemed to be lke the thousandth time. Four messages from the usual suspects--- Chonsa, Baekhee, Mary and Euri.

4 UNREAD MESSAGES FROM :

Chonsa: Aah~!! U r going to be on the same plane as Yonghwa! D8

Baekhee: ᄏᄏᄏ~ Make frenz with Yonghwa, arasso?^^

Mary: U noe the DJ of the B2ST! Wae u no tell me? D':

Euri: oMo..good luck on ur flight >.< dun look down ᄏᄏᄏ

I sighed and texted all of them in one message.

TO :

Chonsa, Baekhee, Mary, Euri: Ik,Ik. I gtg now. Ppyong^^

I slumped against my seat, and pulled my luggage and carrier bag closer to me.

"Miss Park Hyesoon!" I turned and saw Mrs Kang, behind her are Matilda, Yonghwa and Doojoon. I stood up; grabbing my bags and bowed, in greeting. "Good you're here. If you're wondering, Ms Jung, Mr Jung and Mr Yoon hitched a ride from me to come here. Haha. Now, enough with the chit-chat. Our flight's in a few minutes." Mrs Kang glanced at her watch, and dragging her bags behind her, she walked ahead of us. "Come, come, kids. You don't want to miss the flight now, do you?"

Matilda grabbed Yonghwa's arm, and skipped along to his strides. I noticed Yonghwa flinched upon the contact, maybe he hurt his arm. Doojoon walk alongside me, helping me with my luggage. We talk about his group, and then about my life for the past three years...he told me he had a crush on this girl but he wouldn't tell me her name, than asked about my love life...I wanted to talk to him about my small crush on Yonghwa...but I'm still unsure about it...so I left that question hanging..

on the plane…

It’s a sad thing that Doojoon and I got seperated because of the plane’s seating plans. My seat was the one next to the window. Yay me! With my luck, I’d end up sitting next to Mrs Kang..or even worse..Matilda. I guess, she’s okay except for the whole diva side of her that has made me on the urge of puking.

I pulled the table-top out and laid my head on it. My face against the cold, smooth surface and my hair flowed down, covering my face.

I heard someone putting his/her case in the carrier containment area and plopped down the seat next to me. I sat up to greet that someone but it turn out to be Yonghwa.

“Uh..annyeong.” I nodded, smiling nervously and I ignored him, by slamming my face back on the table. Ow..my nose.. I heard him stiffled a laugh.

“Annyeong.” He responded, chuckling.

“What’s so funny?” I asked, as I sat back up, putting the table-top back to its place.

“Nothing.” He looked away but my eyes lingered on him. “Oh, Doojoon is calling you..” He turn back to me, pointing to the front of the opposite lane.

“He is?” I released the buckle of my seatbelt and stood up, following Yonghwa’s finger. Sure enough, Doojoon was there, waving his hands around the air. It took me a moment to register what he is trying to portray. It seems he wants me to switch seat with Matilda..literally begging. I smiled and nodded. His face lit up and turned to Matilda, next to him.

I was about to get my carrier bag from the carrier containment area when I noticed Yonghwa’s sad expression. I don’t know why, but I have a feeling that he either didn’t want me to go or didn’t want Matilda sitting NEXT to him on a 45 minute flight. I hesitated and stood there frozen, my mind blank. Yonghwa looked at me and smiled, though it didn’t reach his eyes—which marked a pleading look. I was about to tell him sorry, when a stewardess came and told me to sit down.

I felt a strange sense of relief spread through me, when she said that. I look back at Doojoon, and shrugged, shaking my head apologetically. He frowned, but smiled understanding the situation, and sat back down. I sighed and slumped against my seat, my hands covering my face. I heard a small whisper near my ear, saying,” Gumawo..”

at Gimhae Airport…

Truthfully, I enjoyed the flight with Yonghwa—aside from the constant glares Matilda’s been throwing. Its sort of nice to know more about him, and he too, know more about me…I think. And it’s a win-win situation.

Yonghwa’s the leader of his band, CNBlue; which is an abbreviation, based on his bandmates’ personalities: Code Name Burning(lead guitarist, Lee Jonghyun) Lovely(drummer, Kang Minhyuk) Untouchable(bassist, Lee Jungshin) Emotional(main guitarist, Yonghwa).

Yonghwa grew up in Busan, together with both his parents and his older brother, Jung Kyungho. Yonghwa wanted to take this opportunity to visit his parents since his brother won’t be back from the army until next year.

I told him about my friends in my previous school—basically everything --, except from my family issues. So when he asked about that, I lied to him saying that my parents are in America, working on their very important business project, and that I wanted to stay in Korea, and staying at my aunt’s house.

The conversation ended with a stewardess announcing the landing of the plane. As soon as we boarded off the plane, Doojoon came rushing towards me, his luggages and mine already in his hands. I stared at him, my eyebrow raised.

“How did you get these so fast?” I blurted. “We only boarded off like a minute ago.” I grabbed my luggage from his grip.

“I cannot tolerate with Matilda and her non-stop talking.” He gave me a long, pleading look.

“The whole flight? The WHOLE one hour flight?” I gave him a you-must-be-joking look.

“Yeah.” He nodded, and his eyes glanced at someone behind me. I turned.

“Hi…Matilda..” I said, smiling awkwardly. She rolled her eyes in reponse.

“I enjoyed our little chat, Doojoon-oppa..We should talk more often,” she bashed her eyelashes and walk away, towards Yonghwa(obviously). I tried not to laugh too hard at Doojoon’s hard expression, and he gave me glare as Mrs Kang gathered us at the airport’s entrance to explain the schedule to us. It went something like this(its quite simple, only an idiot can’t remember this schedule) :

March 25 : arrival of corresponder, team leaders

March 27 : arrival of team members, performers

April 14 : arrival of students of Seoul High School, guests(attending and bought tickets)

April 15 : Seoul High School Charity Concert

(and yes, this is how Mrs Kang arranged it)

I looked up from the schedule list and glanced around. Yonghwa caught my eye and winked at me. I did the most obvious thing a girl would do, I blushed. I smiled shyly at him when Matilda turned and caught me smiling at Yonghwa.

Our eyes locked, hers with full of intensity and I think mine was blank. Doojoon broke the gaze by stepping in between us.

“What was that all about?” He asked, nudging my elbow as we followed Mrs Kang towards the exit.

“I have no idea.”
