Prologue
I was sitting at my desk typing away on the keyboard when i suddenly felt the room start to spin. I looked up and around and tried to take several deep breaths but i couldn't seem to ward off this very familiar dreaded feeling. I knew i was going to pass out and lo and behold i felt my ears buzzing horribly. Sweat is forming and i can feel the heat pulsate through out my body....God how i hated this feeling. I can't to anything except wait for the dark tentacles of oblivion to grab a hold of my mind and conciousness and send me off to the nowhere...
Dark is what it is and how it feels....i don't remember anything during these blackouts, i just wake up with horrible nausea surging throughout my body and i'm lucky if i make it to the bathroom on time.
Chapter 1
Today is the day i turn 25. Am i happy ? Sure am! I have a lot to be grateful for....a great job, great family and great friends. Okay, so i don't have a man in my life but so what? Its only a matter of time and besides, i don't have the time to date at the moment. Work is hectic ( I am a property settlement specialist.) and i have a lot of new deals that need closing before the Christmas/holiday period.
But today i have decided to finish work early and head out shopping as i definately need some new clothes for tonight. I didnt realise how much weight i had lost until i was trying on my light blue silk blouse and favorite dark blue wool skirt. I like the way they look against my olive skin, long dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Gee......The skirt no longer sat on my waist ! It seemed to be hanging on my hips .....when did this happen??
Staring at the mirror and seeing how horribly thin i had become, i headed to my walk in closet and rummaged through the hangers until i found the creamy coloured skirt i bought a few months back. It was the wrong size , 2 sizes smaller than i usually wear and i haven't had the chance to return it as yet.
As i slipped it on and prayed that it fit, i get a funny ringing sensation in my ears and i instantly realised that i was going to have one of my fainting spells so i headed straight for the armchair by the window as it was the nearest and softest object to fall into.
Hello darkness, my old friend................................
Only this time its not just darkness.
This time its very different.
