Adam awoke in his pale green hospital gown. Tired, and not very accustomed to his new stinger, which was now a plastic pink sword. He remembered vaguely what had happened; pure adrenaline pumping in his tiny bee veins to defend his friend Barry. He remembered the moment his stinger pierced the buttocks of Layton and him falling to his potential, and terrifying death. He also remembered Barry's thin and kind arms wrapped around him in sorrow, pleading him not to die, for his sake. Adam's heart began to pound a little faster by his thoughts, and he could hear the heart monitor begin to beep at a faster pace.

Almost as if on command, Barry came through the white push doors with a white daisy in his arms. "B-Barry!", Adam squeaked nervously, pulling his napkin blanked up closer to his shoulders, "It's nice to see you again." Barry flew over to Adam and placed the flower beside him. "I'm so glad you're okay Adam, what you did for me... that was so brave." Barry exclaimed, averting his eyes away from Adam's. Adam blushed furiously, "Uhhh, thank you Barry, that means a lot, b-but it wasn't your fault, okay, please don't think this is your fault. I just wanted to protect you. I needed to." Barry's sea blue eyes gazed into Adam's golden brown ones, and they just stared at each other, for what seemed like an eternity.

Both bees began to blush, but Adam broke their eye contact first. He pushed the red button allowing honey to be pumped into his arm. Adam usually felt better when he did that, but now Barry was here, and it was a completely different feeling. Before, his pain would be gone, but now all he felt was embarrassed and exposed. He hated this feeling, but never hated Barry. Adam looked over his shoulder, and noticed Barry fiddling with his fingers, twirling them one over the other. He was avoiding something, Adam knew it. He's known Barry for his entire life, and he did this every time he was avoiding something, which was not rare. "Barry, your doing the finger thing again. What is it you're not telling me?" Barry looked back into Adam's eyes, this time with a pleading, scared look on his face. Adam began to panic, "Barry, w-what's wrong? Did something happen with the honey case? Vanessa? Please tell me, you can tell me anything. I promise I'll listen, I swear!" Adam turned to face Barry, who was now looking down at his crossed legs.

"Adam..." Barry said, starting to blush hard. Adam began to feel a tightening in his heart as it began to beat faster and his blushing began to deepen into a reddish tomato color. "Adam, I... I think, I think I... like you, like, a lot." Both didn't say a word. There was nothing else to be said. Both bees looked each other in the eyes again, this time now with a tender, loving gaze. Their sparkling eyes and blushing cheeks inched closer to each other every passing moment. "Barry.. I..", Barry's hands began to move to Adam's hips. "I.." Adam sat in shock as Barry's legs began to make their way between his. "I like you." And they kissed.

It was beautiful; legs intertwined and bodies against each other. Their lips moving passionately to the same pace, slow but steady. Barry's hand began to make it's way up Adam's back, underneath his hospital gown. Barry untied Adam's gown and pulled away from their kiss to watch the gown fall from Adam's body. Adam looked stunning in Barry's eyes, he always had, but never like this. His bare body felt wonderful and extraordinary, he wanted Adam to feel his body too. Barry flung off his sweater to reveal his bare body to Adam. Both were speechless, but no words needed to be said. Again, they began to kiss, but now it was powerful. Mashing mouths against each other, bare bodies sliding together under the napkin, legs twisting and turning.

The temperature under the napkin began to rise and the heart monitor beeped fast. All this time wasted on their friendship was worth it. This was all worth it. Time was irrelevant to them now; an eternity could have been spent there. As they begin to feel tired, Barry broke their kiss and looked into Adam's eyes. "You're extraordinary.", he said laying his head on Adam's neck. "You're wonderful." Adam said as he wrapped his arms around Barry. Both bees slept that night, with new found love in their hearts and kisses on their lips. Everything had changed, but it didn't matter to them. They were together now, and that was all they needed.
