It was almost like a dream really. He was there, then gone.

"BLAIREY POO!! WAKEY WAKEY SUGAR PLUM!" I heard from downstairs. My mother's loud voice screamed up to me from down in the kitchen.

"I'm awake!" I screamed back to her.

I tapped on my alarm clock to shut off the noise, and then got ready for the day. As I was heading to school, I tripped. Of course, just my luck. On top of that, two senior jock's from my school were standing right behind me when it happened. My skirt that I decided to wear for god knows what reason flew up exposing my panties. I wouldn't live this down. All I could hear was the sound of their laughter bursting out. A full on laughing session.

"Nice going pug!" Screamed one of them still laughing hysterically.

Pug is what they use to call me back in grade school. It was because I was short and chubby, like a pug.

"I like your pick, pinky." Said the other jock laughing, then winked at me.

"Fucking jerks! Burn in hell!" I screamed. I then picked myself up and ran to school. Tears in my eyes and all. The first class I ran immediately towards was math. Why? I don't know. I did know actually. I wanted him to be there. I wanted to see that smile that would make all the pain go away. I ran to the room, opened the door to a full class room. Still crying my eyes out, I scanned the over the room. He wasn't in there, at all.

"Excuse me Miss. Bliss, What are you doing interrupting my class?" I heard Mr.Harp say meanly but concerned once he saw my face. "Are you alright?!" I heard him say, but all I could think of was that boy. I could care less about my math teacher at the moment. I closed the door. And turned around.

I couldn't believe I couldn't find him, where was he? Who was he? I started crying more, I couldn't see as I turned around towards the hall.

THUMP.

What did I run into? Who did I run into? I looked up, barely able to see. It was him! Or were my eye's tricking me?

"What happened!?" he said worried.

He grabbed both my shoulders, fear in his eyes. I couldn't say anything. I just stood there crying.

"Tell me what happened. Who made you cry?" He had said it so darkly I had to look at him once more to make sure it was really him. He looked me deep in the eyes then pulled me close, he just held me. It seemed like forever. We just stood there, and I stopped crying.

Why was I so tranced by him? He smelled so good, like a musk Axe smell, it made me high. I loved it. I buried my face into his chest, so warm. I Then looked up at him, my face still wet with tears. He was just staring at me, his eyes gentle, with a soft warm passionate smile. He wiped away the rest if the tears on my face, and asked once more

"Who made you cry?"

I couldn't even speak. I just shook my head no. He looked at me sadly after that, but he could tell I just couldn't say at the moment. He let go of me and looked down the hall like someone was calling him, calling his name. Oh that's right, I still don't know his name.

"Who-"

He looked down at me sharply, and then his eyes widened slightly.

"Yes?" He said slowly.

I hesitated.

"Who-What is your name?" I mumbled softly, I'm almost sure he didn't hear me. I barely heard me.

"Max." He said calmly smiling at me. "Max Rain." He looked me in the eyes softly.

"What an interesting name..." I said poking my lips. Which is what I do when I think. I glanced up to see him still staring at me. I then realized we were still very close to each other, I blushed.

"Your face turned redder then before." He said quietly but with a smart ass tone. "Now we're really not strangers. Huh Blaire?"

I looked up and slightly smiled.

"I'm ready to tell you about what happened..." I hesitated but began. "All through grade school I was mocked, made fun of. Because of my weight. I've never fit in, never had anyone but Lexia, my best friend. They all made me feel worthless... T-" I stopped realizing I was rambling on.

"Continue." He said softly.

"T-" I stuttered.

He placed his hand softly around mine.

"Continue." Once more he said.

"This morning...I Tripped. There were two jock's behind me. I felt like wearing a skirt, you know just to try it. Maybe feel a little pretty for one.. And because I tripped they saw right up it. They were mocking me horribly, calling me by the "pet name" everyone have me in grade school..." I stopped, tears welding up again.

He leaned down towards me and kissed me on my forehead. His hand went to wipe away the forming tears.

"What was it...?" He said softly.

"....Pug." I whispered looking down at the ground. "You know, because a pug is short and pudgy."

When I looked back up, he has a serious look on his face. Like the end of the world was coming.

"They're going to burn for that." He said so quietly, I could hardly tell what he had said. My eyes widened. "You're beautiful, don't listen to those nasty perverts." He leaned down again and kissed my cheek, which were red by then.

"Now you two love birds, better split it up and get to class. No, the office." Mr.. Harp said sharply.

Immediately my face turned to a deeper shade of red because of being called Max's love bird. He could tell what I was thinking and winked at me, took my hand and pulled me to the office with him. As soon as we opened the door, the schools nurse who for some odd reason loves to sit at the front desk in the office all day long, greeted us.

"Hello y'all. What ya here for?" She said with her piercing southern voice.

She was a tiny women, blond, busty, spunky. She has pretty blue eyes, and tan skin. I know what you're thinking, she looks like the perfect beach bunny in a nurse outfit. Every teenage boys dream come true.

"We were sent here for being to "love birdy" In the halls." Max said winking after. Max really likes to wink it seems. Not that I'm complaining, he's got that kind of face that he can wink and it looks just right.

It made the nurse gasp and squeal with delight.

"I don't know why they punish students for being all lovey dovey, ya know? I mean, what if it's true love?! They don't care 'bout those typa things? I mean even so, eventually they're gonna make babies, that grow and need to be in school! Which earns them all more money, ya know?" She kept going on and on.

We walked back to the office. Max seemed like he knew where we were going. Did he always get in trouble for these things? He must have read my mind because he turned and said to me

"You're the first girl I've done that with. I just spend a lot of time in here helping out with projects. Don't worry. You're one of a kind." He winked once more. It made my heart race.

We went into the Dean of Students office, where we saw Mr.. Larryryme sitting at his desk.  He was plump man with a full grown mustache. He was balding, so he wore a cowboy hat to cover it up, even though it's against school policy, he did it anyway. He was an awesome dean, he was kind, and he cared about the students. He wasn't a drone.

"Welcome y'all" He had a deep husky southern voice. "What'll y'all in for?" He said looking down at a manila folder.

"Mr.. Harp said we were being love birds, even though he was just comforting me. I was crying." I said the words so quickly I didn't even realize I'd said it.

"PSH" I heard Mr.. Larryryme say.

"Please, y'all aren't in trouble, well, just to shut the old geezer up stay in here for a bit so I don't gotta listen to his complaining." Said Mr.. Larryryme.

Max nodded and dragged me into the room three doors down from Mr.. Larryryme's office where we sat on a little sofa in the corner of the room. Max still hadn't let go of my hand. We then sat there quiet.
