Our little game began almost immediately. As soon as we left the cafeteria after the bell rang I flirted with her and tried getting her attention in multiple ways. The pick up lines was, of course, the first wave.
The first thing I had to do in the usual term of dating was to get her to say yes on going on a date with me. It'll be all about flattery and corny pick up lines that the lady wouldn't be able to help but laugh. At least, I hoped Amelia would, considering how she may be immune to it.
I've seen other guys try to hit on her, and none were ever successful.
I hope my pick up lines were stupid and idiotic enough for her to laugh at, a better reaction than blatant rejection like the treatment those guys endured.
Amelia and I walked in our class together, and it was the perfect opportunity for a pick up line and as we both sat down on desks beside each other near the back of the room, I turned to her and said, "We're we in class together? I swear we had Chemistry."
Amelia snorted and replied, "Actually yes, we had Chemistry class right before lunch." She put a lot of emphasis in class, making it very obvious what she had meant. It was probably for the girls on the right side of us who were trying to tune in our conversation.
"That's great! We do have chemistry together." I smirked, two can play the game Lia.
She rolled her eyes with a smile. "Yes, the class, you dolt. Get it through your head."
"Ooh, ouch. Rejected." Another voice piped in and I recognized him from one of Amelia's group of friends. He sat down on the other side of Amelia.
I looked in his direction and said, "I know, hurts right here," I patted on the left side of my chest right where at my heart. "Tell me Liam, how did you do it?"
Knowing what I meant, he replied, "Well, I was just standing there being my oh-so-hot self when she tried to hit on me."
I laughed because of the fact Amelia tried to hit on Liam while unaware he was gay, I remembered Liam telling me all about it. I knew about his sexuality since we were both in the football team and he revealed it to me first before telling the whole team, which took some serious guts.
I was supportive all the way, since nothing had changed from when we were kids and we were still friends. I remember him telling the whole team and saying not to worry since he wasn't attracted to any of us, saying because we were all pansies and he sees us as family and he wasn't about to get into incest.
"Are you saying I'm not hot enough for Amelia to deem appropriate enough to date?" I said jokingly.
Amelia was glaring at Liam all the while he said, "Nah, maybe you just gotta be gay like me."
We laughed as Amelia started blushing and being the feisty girl that she was, Lia punched Liam and I's arms that was nearest to her, my right and his left. We both groaned, this girl knew how to punch.
Ms. Collins stood up from her chair at the very front of the room as the bell rang to begin fifth period, Art. With this class, all fine and visual art was included. Which made me happy, meaning I could try all different things but still remain in the same subject with the rest of my friends.
It wouldn't be a question to see why Amelia and Liam were in this class, but for me it would. Other students looked at me as if to say as a typical jock, I shouldn't be here.
Art was my passion even before football ever was, it was really annoying how these people would go around thinking I wouldn't be capable of creating a beautiful piece. I ignored them and continued to listen for today's lesson.
