Have you ever had that moment where you just feel like you're falling? Tumbling through an endless ocean of air. Only to feel like you're being yanked back up like a bungee cord snapping back after being pulled as tight as it can stretch. One day that cord is going to break, and you'll forever be trapped in that endless pit.

Tobi woke up panting, drenched in a cold sweat that made her dark auburn hair cling to her forehead and the base of her neck. She glanced at the red blinking numbers on the alarm clock and saw that it was only 1:27 in the morning. Groaning, she rolled back over in bed, throwing her arm carelessly over her eyes in an attempt to catch the last wisps of sleep that were quickly fading away.

Realizing sleep wouldn't come, Tobi reluctantly clambered out of bed and threw open the drapes to reveal the soft glow of the moon hidden behind them. Tossing open the window, she drank in the cool, crisp autumn air. A new night in a new house.

How am I going to get used to this? She pondered. Shrugging away her doubts, Tobi flopped back into bed and tucked the warm quilt up to her chin, letting sleep take her away.
