After an hour or so of me swinging my legs and trying to distract myself, I give up, jumping off the tree.
I start walking towards the house when suddenly, I hear some noise. It sounds like someone talking, probably a mom, but that's not possible.
No one comes to this part of the woods, thinking it has snakes and whatever.
So I walk towards the noise, seeing some adorable rabbits. There seems to be a mother and two babies. I smile at the sight. Suddenly, the mother stiffens. She must have realized I was there.
She opens her mouth to give out a warning, when suddenly someone yells,"Run!"
It sounds exactly like the voice I hear earlier, but that's impossible. I must be hearing things.
The mom closes her mouth and starts running, the baby right on her heels. I turn around, frowning. Who scared my friends away?
But no one is there. So I get up and start searching for the source of the noise.
"Hello? Anyone there?" I say.
No one answers. Getting a little creeped out, I head home. I go inside, lock the door behind me, and turn around to see a figure. I scream, then realizing that it's Hailee.
"What are you doing here?!" I ask her. "I told you to stay away!"
She looks at me sadly, "My parents are getting rid of Billy. I thought you might want to know."
Hailee is our neighbor whose house I visit quite a lot. Not because I like her, but because they own the most awesome cat ever. That is, until she decided I wasn't allowed in her house unless I hung out and talked to her, not just her cat.
I got angry, and there was a lot of yelling. Long story short, she lost. It ended with me telling her to never even look at me again. (A/N: sorry, that part sucked, I can't speak)
I frown at her,"Oh. Uh... Sorry?"
I don't really know what to say. Hailee has been nothing but kind to me, and not that I care about her, but I don't wanna be mean to her.
"So... Where is he going?"
"My parents are looking for someone. They don't wanna give him to the shelter, he doesn't deserve that."
I nod,"Good."
She looks at me, smiles, waves, and walks out of my house as if it were her own.
