SilverSwift's Protest

Part 1-New Warriors

   It was a rainy day on LavaClan's territory. The usually dry and sunny volcano they lived on was dark and wet. SilverPaw and DawnPaw walked out of their den.

  "Wow! it sure is wet out here" said SilverPaw. Lifting his silver paws out of the mud, squinting his blue eyes as he looked at the sky. "some day for our warrior ceremony."

  DawnPaw on the other hand was walking towards the fresh kill pile like it wasn't even raining. Her green eyes set unblinkingly on a squirrel.

She retrieved it and rushed back to her brother. "but DawnPaw, the warriors are on a hunting patrol right now. They will be back with prey any time now," "I know," she mewed. "But we must not waste any prey with this rain. It would go bad." "You've got a point,'' SilverPaw said, " but who cares? Let's eat! I'm starving!"

  After the squirrel was finished, LavaClan's leader BlackStar hopped onto the high rock. His violet eyes shining and his black smooth pelt glistening.

  "May all cats old enough to catch there own prey, please gather around the high rock!" DawnPaw started getting all jumpy. "Its time!!!" Its time!!!" "I know DawnPaw! You're acting like a kit on its first day our of the nursery! Now let's go!"

  Once all of the cats got there, BlackStar started talking. "Today I have two special announcements to make! First of all, we have two apprentices becoming warriors today, DawnPaw and SilverPaw!! SilverPaw, DawnPaw, are you two ready to serve your clan as warriors?" they both nodded there heads. " Then from now on, SilverPaw, you will be known as SilverSwift because of your quick, but reasonable reaction under pressure. " "SilverSwift! SilverSwift!" chanted his clan mates. " and DawnPaw, from now on you shall be know as DawnHeart, for your caring and happy personality. " "DawnHeart! DawnHeart!" chanted her clan mates.

  "Thank you DawnHeart and SilverSwift, you may leave now. Now for my second announcement. Tomorrow night, it will still be raining, storming in fact. If we want to be the best clan, we need to get rid of our... Uh... Weaker opponents," most of the warriors mumbled between them selves. " Get rid of? What dose that mean?" whispered DawnHeart to SilverSwift. " I don't know," he said. "Listen" "We will attack LeafClan and OceanClan! While they least expect us to be out and about. Any questions?" "Yes, actually!" meowed SilverSwift.

  "Why are we attacking them? They did nothing to us!" the whole clan started laughing. "What do you mean 'why'? We are the best can and we need to have them all bowing down too us!" BlackStar shouted. "Yeah!!" shouted the rest of the clan. SilverSwift felt himself getting hot. "We attack tomorrow at sunset. You are all dismissed. "

  SilverSwift and DawnHeart walked off together. "I made such a fool of myself," meowed SilverSwift sulkily. DawnHeart rapped her tale around her brother's neck. "Don't worry about it. " she mewed. "How about we go hunting! I bet I will catch more pray than you!" she challenged. "Challenge excepted!" meowed SilverSwift.

  Once they got out far into the woods, DawnHeart stopped SilverSwift. "Listen," she said very seriously. "Saying we were going to he hunting was fake. Who would go hunting in this whether?" SilverSwift was surprised and she had a point once again. "Well, then why are we our here?" he mewed in confusion. "We are going to run to leaf can and ocean can territory to warn them! Maybe even join them. I mean, our clan is just going to attack them! Did you hear how excited they were? Its just terrible and I know I don't want to be a bloodthirsty killer and you don't either! So are you gonna do this with me or not?!" SilverSwift was quite frightened by his sister at the moment. She was never that loud and never so angry in her whole life. " I... Uhhh..." he started. "I'm with you. You're also kind of scaring me! You've never been so riled up!" "I know and I hate being this angry! Let's go already!
