I was all sweaty and tired after my agility training. I’d went to the arrow room having to do the course three times on double the speed and my apparatus course twice. It felt good to move fast and have my body do all the work while my mind rested.

“Good job today,” Grace said checking off some things on her clip board. “It looks like your muscle mass has grown, which is good.”

I nodded and wiped myself down with a towel Arlene handed me.

“You have like a six pack,” Arlene mused as she gazed down at my stomach that was bare due to the sport’s bra I was wearing. It was different showing off more skin that I was used to. I’d turned a few lab workers heads too.

Grace rolled her eyes. “Of course she does, you’d think with what she’s does every day that she wouldn’t?”

Arlene nodded. She and Grace had started to become good friends. Even as annoying as Arlene could be at times, yapping on and on about things that hardly made sense to me or any human being. Grace seemed fond about her, but she cared more dearly for me than she did anyone else and I was starting to see the bond between us growing with each day.

“Where are we going now?” I asked as Grace and I walked down the hall. I had just showered, my hair in dark ringlets around my face.

“We’re going to go visit subject twelve eighteen. I want to go see if his blood has any effect on you.”

I glanced straight ahead as we went down a corridor and came to the X wing. I’d forgotten about the subject’s blood that now roamed inside of me. My stomach tightened at the very thought.

“Hello, Grace,” Aaron said looking up from the screen into the subject’s room.

“Hello, Aaron,” she said with a wave with her hand.

Beside Aaron was General Tanner’s new assistant, sergeant Rowan. She only nodded without any emotion on her face. “Hello Grace, Nadia it’s nice to see you again.”

Screams from inside of the room drew my attention over to the screen that held movement.

“What’s going on?” I asked walking over.

Sergeant Rowan straightened and came over beside me as I gazed into the room at the two guards who surrounded the subject boy who thrashed around on a bed. Each of them held a long metal rod that flashed a bright blue static light that seemed to course through the subjects body, making him convulse violently.
