Asriel brought Chara to their home where his mother Queen Toriel healed the child and his father King Asgore made them part of the dreemurr family. Chara was so happy to finally have people that actually care about them, they felt so much gratitude toward the dreemurr's. But then they thought about way before humans feared their own emotions, they feared monsters, so they sealed them underground and put up a barrier so that they could never escape. Chara hated everything about humanity, how could they be afraid of such kind warm hearted things. Chara and Asriel soon became Best Friends. One night before bedtime Asriel brought Chara to the dump where they were looking to see what cool things the humans threw out. "Asriel do you hate humans?" Chara asked,Asriel thought for a moment
"Nope"
"But they trapped you down here, aren't you mad about that"
"No"
"But humans are horrible, they attack things they don't understand, like monsters... Like myself"
"But Chara your human aren't you?"
"Yeah"
"Then that means that not all humans are bad, here I wanted to save until your fallen day,
but I guess you can have it now"
Asriel handed Chara a box wrapped with a red ribbon, Chara opened the box and heart shaped lockets that had the words BFFs written on them.
"Why are there two of them?"
"Haha silly" Asriel grabbed one of lockets and put it on, then grabbed the other one and put it on Chara.
"One for you and one for me"
Chara could feel themselves slowly tear up, they didn't feel like they deserved the kindness that the dreemurrs were giving them, "*sniff* hey Asriel lets go home before mom realizes that were not in bed" Chara said, Asriel giggled then nodded as they ran back home. Chara couldn't stand not repaying the dreemurrs for everything, then Chara had an idea a plan. Chara told Asriel that they new of a way to free all the monsters from the underground, but told Asriel that they needed help to do so. Chara told Asriel that if they died Asriel could absorb their soul and gain enough power to break the barrier and free everyone. At first Asriel was hesitant he didn't want to see his brother and best friend die just to SAVE them, but Chara and Asriel knew it was the only way. Chara slowly started to poison themselve with buttercups from the garden and soon Chara died. Asriel absorbed Chara's soul and broke the barrier, carrying Chara's dead body Asriel remembered that Chara said that they wanted to see the golden flowers from thier old village. Asriel made it to Chara's village and put Chara"s body on a bed of golden flowers. But the villagers saw Asriel and thought he killed the human child. The humans so afraid they panicked and struck Asriel with everything they had. Chara told Asriel to fight back to kill the humans, but Asriel refused and picked up Chara's body and walked home. Once Asriel reached the throne room he collapsed his dust spread across the buttercups leaving Chara's body on the garden. A heartbroken king and queen had lost two children in one night, the underground fell into dispair the humans had now taken everything from them. The queen left the king after he declared that every human who fell into the underground would die, the queen made her new home in the ruins and buried Chara's body under the flowers they fell onto when entering the underground. Chara stayed there for a long time and watched the other children that had emotions injected into their souls Justice, Integrity, Kindness, Patience, Bravery and Perseverance fall into the underground as well, but soon after years and years of sleeping Chara would finally be woken up.
