{Adams P.O.V}

"Admaster!" I heard a familiar voice scream behind me.

"Dougaroni!" I screamed in the same obnoxious manner turning to face my giant best friend.

We both let out our over-powered laughs and quickly grabbed each other's hand and slammed our chests against one another's. While most people call this a "bro hug" we do this whenever we see each other and whenever we plan on leaving, it's kind of an "I love you" in a way that doesn't  seem overwhelmingly gay.

"Who did you snatch for tonight?" He smirked throwing his arm around me, turning me to face the parking lot full of ladies and their dates.
"No one yet." I shrugged, "I haven't been here for five minutes Doug."

"Really? Doesn't usually take that." He shrugged as his eyes scanned over all the high schoolers.
I looked up at him at the side of my eyes and rolled them back to the crowd.

Doug and I were standing at the "Paparazzi" section of the red carpet looking at all the girls coming in.

I saw a lot of girls I knew, intimately, and a lot of girls that I recognised yet didn't know.

I saw an -okay- girl in a tiny red dress (obviously a desperate attempt male attention. I will not comment if it was working or not) with her brown curls done up in some girly manner, she was surrounded by her little girlfriends, one of the bitches pointed out that I was starring. The girl slapped her friends arm and pointed in my direction, not taking the fact that I saw her into mind, the girl looked my way and not so long after her face was the colour of her dress. She smiled as wide as she could and bite her lip. If the rest of her friends hadn't pushed her forward she would had stared at me for ages.

Once I realised the situation, I rolled my eyes and gave the girl a sarcastic smile.
She blushed again and quickly turned her head to walk back inside.

Several more girls with their dates, or friends, walked inside and none of them really caught my eyes as new, or interesting.

"Hey, look, it's Twinkie!" Doug nudged my elbow and motioned towards George O'Brien, "Who is that girl with em'?" There was a girl on his arm, I couldn't fully see, I could see her dress and neck, which did not disappoint me.

She was wearing some kind of black and pale gown, laying perfectly on herself. "Probably a trans." Doug stated no longer amused.

I rammed my fist into his diaphragm without looking away from the girl. "Oh shit." He mumbled covering his area of pain.

Then every single nerve in my body wanted to puke as soon as I saw her face.
It was snobby Mrs. Perfect, with that Twink. My "tutor" Nicole looked around with her head high, as always, and a slight smile.
My eyebrows furrowed like they never had before as I realised what I must look like.

I was praying to God that she wouldn't see me gazing so I quickly turned and tackled Doug to the ground behind the cardboard cut outs of paparazzi.

As soon as I knew we were secure behind the barriers of stupidity. I looked in the opening of the two silhouettes, to see if she saw my desperate attempt to disguise myself.
All I could see was her high heels , the bottom of her dress, and George's shiny black shoes.

I moved a little further forward to see when she went inside.

Once I saw George and Nicole were secure inside I started to get up-
"Hey! Get away from there you pervs!"

My eyes widened as my hands gripped the grass in frustration. Doug quickly got up, but I took a second longer, not daring to look up in the eyes of our passerby.

Everything in my body tensed as I started to lift my head in the direction of the- Danny?

"Hey!" Danny shouted, walking closer to me to invite me into a hug.

Danny was my cousin from my fathers side, he and I grew up together, him only living a couple trailers down from mine. A lot of nights that my father and I would be on bad terms, I slept on the top bunk of his bunk bed to get some peace of mind.

I quickly pulled him into a hug, Danny is a junior this year, one grade below me, and his first prom had to be memorable, so I hoped he had a date.

"So who's the lucky lady tonight, Danny?" Doug asked from behind me moving up.
"Uh, she's meeting me here, her name is Alison."
"Alison Devetto?" I asked.
"Yeah, actually." He answered his upper body tensing. "You don't "know her" do you?"

"No, no." I shook my head quickly. "Nah, she's all yours man."

Danny smiled and relaxed his muscles.
Danny had always had a little trouble with girls, don't get me wrong, Danny's not a bad looker. He's always been to shy and too distant to ever get with a girl. So whenever I would get a quick date, he would always be uncomfortable around that girl, because she had already been with me.
"So what do ya say we go in?" Doug said breaking the dead air. "Wait, Dannys' girl aint here yet." I turned and smacked his chest with the back of my hand, giving him a look. Doug nodded and looked down, "It's okay, Adam, you can go in. She should be here soon." He said turning from us to check the parking lot once more before turning back to us to give an encouraging smile.

I turned a bit towards the door, "You sure man? I'll stay out here with you."

"Nah don't worry about it, I'll be in soon." He smiled turning to face the parking lot.

I gave Doug a worried look, and he just shrugged, and with that, we turned to walk inside.

Authors note:

It was a pretty boring chapter, I know, but I'm suuuuper busy lately and this is all I've gotten, between volleyball, cross country going to the gym and marching band I'm all booked!

Lots of llama love!
