Prom was finally coming up. You and Rory decided to go dress shopping. Rory picked out a knee length baby blue dress. It took a while for you to find the perfect dress. You finally picked one out and you were really proud about it. It was a long strapless black dress. You couldn't wait till prom. 

The day of prom was a long drag. You waited forever. You couldn't wait to see Tyler dressed in his tux. You had always wanted to be with Tyler you just never wanted to ruin the friendship between you two. During the middle of one of your classes the intercom came on. "Hello students of Y/HS! Today we are going to tell you the nominees for prom king and queen!" the principle said over the intercom. You didn't pay attention during the announcement because you knew you would never be nominated. It was always the popular and pretty girls who were nominated. "Y/N" the intercom said pulling you out of your thoughts. You looked up with a confused look and everyone was staring at you. Had you heard that correctly? Were you actually nominated? You were really confused. This had to be a joke. 

"Hey prom queen" Rory said as she came up to you after school. "Umm hey" you responded awkwardly. "I'm coming to your house to get ready for prom." she said. "Okay I'll see you there in a bit" you say getting in your car and driving off. 

When you and Rory arrived at your house you put on your dresses and you started doing your makeup. After you were finished getting ready you and Rory looked in the mirror. You both smiled. You had been best friends since kindergarten and seeing that your friendship lasted this long made you both really happy. On top of that you were both beautiful. Your mom was  a photographer so before Josh and Tyler got there she took some of you and Rory. 

You were outside smiling for a picture when a pair of arms wrapped around your waist and another pair wrapped around Rory's waist. You turned around and Tyler had his arms around you and Josh had his around Rory.  You smiled looking at Tyler in his tux. He was so adorable and handsome at the same time. He pulled out your corsage and put it on your wrist and accidentally poked you. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" he said awkwardly. You laughed. "Tyler it's fine" you flash him a smile and he calms down a little.

When you arrived at prom a group of girls started laughing at you. "Her? Prom queen? You have to be kidding!" you heard one say. Tyler wrapped one arms around your waist "Don't listen to them. Your beautiful and you definitely have my vote" you smile at his response. You had waited for this forever and it was happening. Tyler took your hand and he started to slow dance with you.
