Sunlight was pooling into the females room by the time her alarm clock went off. 6:30am.

She slung her legs over the side of her bed lazily and began getting up to shut off the alarm. Her hand slammed down on the noisy thing across her room and she groaned. Sighing, she proceeded to continue (with caution and laziness) through her "work morning routine". At 7am, her hair and teeth were brushed, her clothes were on, her stomach was full, and her mind was in a daze. "Does he notice me?" She thought to herself. Shortly afterwards her conscious kicked in and forced her to believe the lies every teenager believes - the horrible assumption that they aren't good enough.

She's at work by 7:30am, 30 minutes before she was supposed to be there to start getting the shop ready to open for the day. This was a way for her to get things ready her way. By 9am, the shop is open and her mind is now focused, forgetting the anxiety and sorrow she had felt earlier.

It was nearly 5pm and time for her to leave. Her day was as busy as usual, so when she heard the loud bell on top of the door ring, she instinctively looked up and started her greeting with a smile, "Hello there, and welcome to-". Her mind went blank, only shortly after being bombarded with thoughts such as, "why is he here?", and, "do I look pretty right now?", or, "how's my hair?"  He smiled and waved at her. Her knees felt weak as if they were about to give out, "keep it together, Lilac", she told herself. Her hand went up tentatively, and shook side to side slowly. Her eyes looked down out of lack of confidence, she began to feel her heart race as a shy smile crept along her face.

"H-how c-can I", she stopped to clear her throat and gain more confidence, and began again, "how can I help you, sir?" Her now confident eyes locked with his uncertain and now widened ones, "whoa, you don't have to be so formal with me, Lilac. I just stopped by to get my favorite burrito and smoothie." Her confidence began to falter - "of course he isn't here for me", she began thinking. She served him, and thanked him for stopping by as he began traveling to his regular spot in the cafe.

It was now exactly 5pm, so she took off her apron, and clocked out. She pulled her long and messy hair into a horrible ponytail and brushed the loose strands around the backs of her ears.

Purse in hand, smile and relief gracing over her, she opened the door, and began walking out. "Lilac, wait!" She stopped dead in her tracks. Turning hesitantly, she faced the voice that was shouting desperately for her to stop moving forwards. "Uh, yes, Lance?" She put on her best smile and looked directly at him. "Would you like to go to a park with me later? I know a cool spot to watch the sunset, but I never seem to have any company. Please join me, I'd really like it if you did." Her knees buckled and the expression in her eyes become blank. Her whole body froze. She felt her head suddenly move in an upward and downward way. "Sweet, I'll pick you up in about an hour and a half?" He said as he checked his watch. Her heart danced and her stomach fluttered. "Y-yeah, that sounds co-cool, I guess." Trying to act calm and cool, she exited and kept a straight face. Only to jump and squeal in excitement as soon as she could no longer see the cafe.

She raced home to take a shower, making sure she grabbed her best smelling body wash. She found a pretty sundress that had sunflowers all around on it. She brushed her hair and her teeth, and pushed her feet into her best matching sandals. She smiled to herself and walked downstairs to tell her parents where she was going, but of course, her mother had been the only one home. She proceeded to ask and her mother gave Lilac her permission coolly.

She looked up at the time on her clock for about the 50th time and much to her surprise, it was 6:30pm. She bounced up as anxiety and excitement flooded her emotions. She was nervous, but incredibly happy that he had asked her to go out.

  The doorbell rang.

Her mother answered.

  She heard talking.

She ran downstairs.

The boy of her dreams was there and talking to her mother.

She had never been this happy.
