Anime has really awesome, messed up creatures in it sometimes like Titans from AOT, kyuubi's, and cyborgs. This just adds to the anime or manga series coolness meter *thermometer looking bar flys through roof*... See?
When you watch an anime with weird monsters in it they're normally evil or... emotionally confused (should probs get some therapy bro). And the bigger and scarier looking they are the more powerful they're gonna be, and with drawing and animation you can pretty much make anything so your gonna need some seriously over powered anime heroes.

It's very hard when you have a really over powered anime character cause you've gotta find new competition to keep the anime going and the audience satisfied. Some animes and mangas can't keep it together and the over powered character has know one else to challenge. That's why you can't have a hero that can "defeat anything" so that there will also be a story of over coming and discovering new power to defeat new threats.

some times people can make the can make the over powering character thing work but it's very rare. For example the anime and manga series one punch man (just by mentioning it) *person in Saitama cosplay freaking out in back fanning eyes and jumping looking as if they really need to pee*. One punch mans main character Saitama if REALLLY over powered but the anime makes it work and sends him on a self quest to find someone stronger than him. And meeting new people that are interesting and improve the story.
