We were driving on an abandoned road, not spooky at all. We have hit that many potholes that my ass has gone numb, Watt however, was looking........excited?

"What the heck are you looking so happy about?" I said after we hit another hole. He smiled wide and gave me a quick glance and a look that said, "I know something that you don't.......nahnahnahnah nah NAH!!!!!"

"What was that for?"

"What was what for?" he said with a smile.

"Stop....Answering....My....Questions....With....Questions!!!!!"I whisper yelled, which I find is much more effective than yelling. We hit another bump, what the heck! Its like he's hitting them on purpose, hold on.......he swerved the car and hit another one.

"Do you mind? I am trying to dig up some info on 'him' and who he might....you know....kill next," I said opening up the laptop again. All of the sudden Watt hit the brakes, I flew slightly forward and hit my head on the top edge of the laptop, shit, thats going to show a mark later. I looked around and blinked a couple of times to clear my blurry vision. Watt was climbing out of the car gun in hand, and pointing it towards a house. I climbed out as well and felt my head, I looked at my fingers and saw blood. Bugger. I follow him into the house. It was dark and old, it smelt like musty, old paint. We opened a door and walked into a even darker room. It was like one of those creepy movies....in other words there was a voice saying in the back of my head 'DO NOT GO IN THERE!!! WARNING!! WARNING!!' and sirens as well.

But me being me I ignore the sirens and keep walking. I tried to find a light switch on the wall, but as soon as I started to look around I hear a noise come from the wall. It sounds like scratching, like someone was dragging their fingernails down the wall. I slowly round the corner I see a small cupboard under a staircase with the door a crack open. Once again the sirens go off in my head and again, I ignore them.

I walk slowly towards the cupboard, the scratching noise following me down the long hallway. I hear footsteps on the floor above me, I assume that it's Watt. I finally get to the cupboard and the scratching noise stops and so do the footsteps. I push on the door and it creeks slowly open and I take a step in and my hand looks for a light switch on the door frame. I don't find it and I take another step forward and I string brushes my shoulder....I jump and go all ninja on it to find out that it's a light switch. I pull it and the light flickers on, I look around and it just looks like a storeroom.

The door slams behind me and I spin quickly and try to open it but it's locked. A tower of empty boxes that was stacked behind me falls over. I back into one of the taller corners with my fists up trying to look more brave than what I was feeling. And then all at once the door opens and as I make a run for it something flies out at me. I scream and throw it off my head and at the wall, I trip over and fall into the rug and I hear laughing. But not your average laugh, a real belly laugh and I hear Watt come down the stairs and he is wiping away tears.

"What the heck are you laughing at? I just got attacked! I think the house is booby trapped,"I yell at him. He walks calmly to the wall where I threw the thing that attacked me as I start to stand up he picks up a huge ball of fur.

"Yes, the 'attacker' is very scary." He chuckles and walks towards me patting it, I realise that it's a fat cat. I feel the burning feeling of a blush starting to creep up onto my face.

"It was a simple mistake....it was dark....I was creeped out....it scared me ok?!?!" I splutter trying to come up with a good excuse for my embarrassment.

He puts the cat down and looks at me and loses it again, next thing I know he's on the floor laughing and crying. I kick him in the side and walk off to go sit in the car. He calls out to me as I leave.

"Be careful of any more booby traps!" I resist the urge to turn around and slap him, I go and sit in the car while he finishes the damn investigation.
