Chapter 1: Face Full of Cow Poop

It was super hot outside. Sweat streaming down my face, as I carried fresh water from the stream to my cows. My mom had told me right before I left "Go get the cows some water, then milk them. President T is coming over in one hour for more Planet X deliveries."

Lately, President T has been a real pain. He keeps going on about things like "Planet X is almost aligned!" and "We don't know what attack methods they have!" Now, you may be wondering, what's the big deal about us being aligned with Planet X? Well, let me catch you up. The year was 6083. The Earth was basically dead. There were more nuclear power plants than there were people. Scientists all over the world were trying to find ways to save the Earth, but then, they realized something better. Moving AWAY from Earth. In the next year, a scientist had discovered a star, lightyears away by using a space scanner (Created 4502). The star was similar to our sun, except for one thing. It created the same temperature on each of it's solar system's 26 planets. The closest planet to the sun and farthest planet to the sun were the same temperature, and each planet had the same oxygen as our Earth. It was outstanding, but then word got out and people all over the world started racing there. Once arrived, each ship landed on a different planet, and soon named each of the 26 planets after letters in the alphabet. The closest to the sun being Planet A, and the farthest to the sun being Planet Z. That then sparked the name Galaxy Alpha for the galaxy's name.

But after a few decades in Galaxy Alpha, people started wanting more land, and all the planets were at war. But, it isn't as easy as go to the planets and fight. It's harder than that. You see, the tech we used to get to Galaxy Alpha almost didn't make it. It was risky traveling here. We could only bring 200 people, animals that could be breed, and a few different seeds per ship. So that meant no modern technology, just resources from earth and on a Galaxy Alpha planet. Plus, the rocket ships that landed on the planets are either busted or scrapped for some odd creation. So the only way you can travel from planet to planet is if you are aligned with them. Once aligned with a planet, it creates a tube sort of thing between those two planets. No other planet can disturb or break the tube. The tube last for a week, and it is air tight, so we can breathe while inside the tube. The tube also can transport you how you are at the speed of light, so you don't need to where a fancy space suit or ride a spaceship to have the tube transport you.

And now, about 100 years later the planets are still at war. Some planets have fallen to others though. Like Planet M was taken over by Planet D, and how Planet S was taken down by Planet X. Those two are the only planets that have been taken down so far, but it does take some time to align planets. There are some planets that have joined forces though. Planet Z joined forces with Planet A, and Planet R has joined forces with Planet L.

So now that you have been caught up with how Galaxy Alpha came to be, back to the real threat, Planet X. The thing that makes Planet X so scary is that it took down Planet S. Planet S had everything on their planet. Food, water, and amazing materials for war. But on the day Planet X and Planet S aligned, I saw something since Planet S was right next to us. People from planet X were riding something. It was hard to tell, because at the time we were still pretty far away from the tube. It looked advanced, and pretty much flew through the tube, and I remember seeing at one point one of them fly OUTSIDE  the tube, where there is no oxygen at all, but it stayed there for a while, and then flew back in the tube. I ran to watch area where we were all supposed to watch the war between them, and everyone saw it too. People were saying things like "What is that?" and "I think I'm seeing something." But then President T ran to an amazing scientist on Planet T. He said that according to his calculations, in the next 10 years.

And that happened 10 years ago. So now we're preparing for the worst, and trying to form an allegiance with them. I got back to the yard with the water, gave it to the cows, and started milking. A half an hour later President T came by.

"Hey Zander," President T said. "How are those cows doing."

"President T?" I said. "I thought you were coming in an hour."

"Yes," he started. "But I just thought you might have something ready for me. We need as much materials as possible so-"

"Ya, I know." I interrupted. "So we can have a huge peace offering package to send through the tube to them. You've told me millions of times."

"Look, I know you don't think this is going to work, but we need to try. Now, we need more leather and milk. You have some?" he said.

"Ya, I've got a big pile of leather over there, and my mom has the milk." I said.

"Ok thanks." he said, and his smile turned into a concerned face. "So, as you know, we need to send someone to TAKE the peace offering package to Planet X, and-"

"I'm not going." I said.

"No, not you." he said. "We're sending... your mother."

"What?!? No way! I already lost my dad with a peace offering to Planet C! I'm not loosing my mom the same way!" I yelled, knocking over my bucket of milk.

"Sorry, she doesn't have a choice, and neither do you." he said.

"Why you-" I tried to punch him, but then two guys grabbed my arms and shoved my into a pile of cow poop.

"Sorry Zander. We've made our decision. Your mom doesn't want to do it either, but we need to send her." he said.

I lifted my head out of the poop, with the two guys still holding my hands back. "My dad went because he wanted to help our planet, and he didn't come back even though Planet C wasn't a big threat. Now your FORCING my mom to go and unlike Planet C, Planet X is one of the BIGGEST threats in Galaxy Alpha."

"What can I say Zander, business is business." he said smirking. "I'm keeping this planet alive and safe."

"If YOU'RE keeping this planet 'alive and safe' than why don't you go risk you're life on that dumb peace offering idea?" I said.

He came up close to me. "You listen to me Zander. I don't care about the worthless people like you and you're family. I care about victory. We've sent your dad and now your mom, and if we make it farther I'm sending you."

"Boys," he started. "Let go of him. We're taking the last bit of milk and leather, than we'll have a good amount for the peace offering."

They let go of me, and I fell back into the poop pile.
