We took a long drive to a part of town that I have never seen. I see people that remind me of my family that isn't there no more. Whether it's my mom's long dark hair or it's a little baby in the swing. I feel trapped, that I'm all alone. As I say it softly to my self Zach holds my hand.
" I'm here," Zach said with a smile
I lean on his shoulder and start to cry. The cop doesn't know what to say to a girl who has lost every thing. He holds me and rubs my back.
With a tear in his eye, "everything will be ok," he told me
We pull up at a big building it has windows that has people standing in uniform at the door. The cop opens the door for me. The are more cops in uniform all look at me when I enter the room. Zach puts his arm around my shoulder. Take a breath a walk forward. You could hear a pin drop in that room if it weren't for my heart.
A man asked me what happens and takes me to a room, separating me and Zach . I'm scared. He gives me a shirt looking the blood of sister when I held he limp body in my arms. I change and softly tell what happened to all my family.
We leave the blank room and go back to where we came.
"Where's Zach," I ask the large man
"He's talking to somebody like you were talking to me," he said I'm a low voice, "come on," as he pulls my arm.
As if I'm in trouble. I took a seat. He looked at me. I'm waiting for Zach I say to him. He looks says ok and goes to one of the desks in the heard. My head is pounding with my sister's scream.
Zach comes out of a door and looks around. Sees me the then runs my way. I sand there is a tear in my eye. He picks me up and spins me around, sits me down moves the tear from my eye.
Zach's mom comes in with her eyes red and a baby on her hip. Sees him and runs.
"Bubby," says the child
Gabby would say that to me but sissy. Mom would nearly drop her because gabby would lean.
"Zachary are you ok?" His mom started "Are you hurt, tell me where it hurts,"
" Mom, mom I'm fine," he said as his mom was hugging her. "but brittany is not"
A tear in my eye, she hugs me long and tight like a mother should.
"Miss sudduth I need you to come with me."
