Eva, a 15 year old girl that lived to the standard of becoming an adventurer looking for dangerous encounters. One morning she was late to school, running as quickly as she could to find her school uniform and bag. The second she reached the stairs she saw her belongings and those of her father’s being packed away, put in the suitcases just like they were leaving. She questioned her whole family and the news came out. She was moving to a place she never heard of, losing everything that ever meant to her. Her family was being split up and her parents’ divorce papers were finalised.
Eva was moving with her father to a place called Wolf. She took her last steps in the house she grew up in, walked to her dad’s car and drove off. For hours, she couldn’t stop think ‘Why did my parents suddenly have a divorce, from one day being happily married to the next day wanting a divorce. Something is not right ’’ After a few hours her dad stopped the car and the second she got out of the car, she saw a small house next to the beach and ran into her new home and start unpacking all her worldly possessions.
After hours of unpacking Eva became exhausted but caught sight of the beach. Running to the water, but immediately heard something. She walked around the beach, finding out what’s happening but became tired and took a quick nap on the sand.
Suddenly she woke up frightened by an unknown creature, a sand coloured wolf looking at her as if he had never saw a human being in his whole life. Eva started to pat the wolf and it said ‘’ I’m not a pet’’
Eva was shocked and said, ‘’ animals can’t talk’’
The wolf walked up to her and said, ‘’ you creatures might be used to wolfs being quiet all the time but I’m not like any wolf. I can walk, talk, and have a cup of tea with cookies. My name is Ole, what’s yours?’’.
She responded, ‘’‘I’m Eva.
He said, ‘’Follow me and I will show you a surprise.’’. Ole crawled in a hole and Eva followed and the first thing that caught her attention was the cookies and tea. The shell shaped cookies looking as real shells freshly picked from the beach. If you bring the cookie close to your ear you might hear the ocean’s waves. The tea smelling like the beach but tastes bitter but is sweet. Eva sat right next to Ole and picked a cup of tea and some cookies.
‘’Eva, creatures like me are becoming extinct due to the hunters killing us all because of our fur worth millions of dollars. But we are not only being killed for money, but also for the beauty of our fur. ‘’
After realising that she had to help Ole, he said ‘’Eat a cookie, the more you eat, the more you will be able to help me.’’. Eva slowly reached for a cookie and she took a bite. After a few minutes Eva slowly started to grow hair. She was slowly transforming into a sand wolf and didn’t believe what she was experiencing, the agony, the torture ripping her body apart and the change.
She heard voices in her mind ‘’you are the one that will lead us there, you are the one, you are our hero.’’. The forces of transformation were so strong that Eva became unconscious.
Later waking up, Eva screamed out loud until her lungs were out of breath, '’what’s happening next, where am I going. Was that a dream?’’.
Ole quickly commented, ‘’No, this is real life.’’. Ole requested help from Eva’s father. Ole told him his situation about the hunters capturing my friend. He is also a sand wolf and his name is Jan.
’’ Eva commented ‘’, How can I trust you, I don’t even know who you are?’’ Eva’s father was slowly reaching her and said ‘’Honey, everything Ole is saying is true’’ she didn’t believe what she was hearing, everything was true,’’ Jan really is captured by the hunter.
As she ran to save Jan she gained the senses of a wolf, running through the jungle. She quickly heard screaming from far a distance and realised it was Jan, she ran like there was no tomorrow. After a while she found Jan, happily running to him but saw the hunter so she hid behind the bush and saw the hunter telling him ‘’any last words’’ he replied ‘’Tell the hero that Ole will betray’’.
Eva started running towards the hunter trying to remove the gun from his hand. Jan screamed ‘’Get out of here, save yourself hero’’. She ripped and tore the hunter’s body but did not succeed, the hunter survived and after a split second the hunter shot Jan shot seven times in his chest right in front of Eva.
She ran as quickly as she could, thinking ‘’Ole will betray, but how can I know it’s true.’’ Moments later she reached the beach and told everything to Ole about Jan being killed but she said, ‘’ Jan’s last words were that you will betray, but betray what?’’
He replied, ‘’You’’. You know too much Eva’’ He quickly ran towards her and cut her neck with his claws then threw her on the ground.
Eva’s father ran back to the beach and saw his daughter in her last moments of life. He held his daughter and she opened her eyes and said ‘’ Father each drop of blood being lost from my body brings me closer to death, I’m sorry’’ she then slowly closed her eyes for eternal sleep.
Her father ran to Ole punching and strangling him until he stopped breathing. A killer was killed. Eva’s father grieved for hours next to Eva’s dead body realising his life was meaningless.
He said, ‘’a courageous girl was killed and a murderer was murdered’’. Meanwhile, walking to the ocean he remembered all the good times he had with his daughter, her first birthday, growing up, becoming a young woman and a heroic wolf. When he reached the ocean he drowned himself until he lost his last breath of air. ‘’I’m sorry’’.
