After picking my jaw up off the floor,I followed my brothers and Finley into the kitchen. All three boys sat down and finished the pizza. I quickly grabbed my slice, leaving the plate on the counter, and dashed up the stairs to my room. Flicking on the television, I checked the dvr for any shows that had recorded. Seeing a new episode of NCIS I clicked it and started the show.
Halfway through the episode I heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs and then the dropping of bags on the floor. Chatter from my brothers and Finley filled the hallway. I paused my episode to listen in. Unsuccessful in my attempt, I opened my door to see the hallway empty.
Walking into the hallway, I saw a door open with the three shapes standing in the seemingly small bedroom. My fathers office had been converted into a makeshift bedroom with a full sized bed, nightstand, and a desk. Walking into the room, I heard more clearly what they were talking about.
"Defense is the best position, win or lose" Finley said.
"You got that all wrong. Offense is the best position. You can feel the wind in your helmet and score the goals for the ladies," said Michael, a bright smile on his face.
"Having a twin brother who you can communicate with without words definitely helps with scoring and winning," Said Brandon.
I walked backwards to my bedroom, tired from today's events and changed into my pajamas. I had a long day and wanted to wish all of this away. I fell asleep before my parents got home and wished that tomorrow would be a better day.

The next morning I was awakened by my alarm going off at six. Highway to Hell by AC/DC filled my room. I slowly hit the button and sat up in bed. Walking over to my bathroom I put in my contacts, brushed my teeth, and washed my face.
After completing my morning ritual, I walked into my bedroom and over to my closet. Ruffling through, I pulled out a pair of denim shorts, a Boston Bruins tee shirt, my red converse sneakers, and a UMass hockey ball cap. I threw my hair into a pony tail, leaving it unsettled from the night before, put on some deodorant, and grabbed my bag while leaving my room.
Walking into the kitchen, I grabbed a bowl from the cupboard and Honey Nut Cheerios with milk. After eating two bowls, I packed my lunch, grabbed my keys, and headed out the door.
After hitting my local Dunkin Donuts for an iced coffee I pulled into the parking lot at school. Walking into the building, I saw many people that I hadn't seen all summer long. Stopping in the offices, I said hello to the secretaries before hitting my locker. Dropping off my lunch, I grabbed my class schedule.
1st period: English with Mrs. Nelson
2nd period: AP European History with Mr. Guberman
3rd period: Spanish with Ms. Alvarez
4th period: Choir with Mr. Smith
Lunch
5th period: AP Biology with Mrs. Shapiro
6th period: Health and Wellness with Ms. Lee
7th period: Study HallIt looked like I had a good schedule this semester. I checked my phone and I had ten minutes to get to class. I walked down the hallway to my English class. My phone started ringing. I picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Why hello there pretty lady. Did you miss me?" I chuckled at my best friend Emily. We had seen each other less than 48 hours ago.
"Why of course I did. What's your first class?"
"English with Nelson"
"Same! Let's meet there now to get good seats!"
"Already on my way."
I hung up just as I entered the English classroom. Picking a seat in the middle of the room, I prepared myself for my friend Emily to attack me when she walked in.
She walked in and sat down on my left while my right stayed open until someone else sat there. Looking over to see my neighbor, I saw none other than Finley. His grey eyes bore into my soul like we were the only two people in the room. Quickly the room filled up with students, eagerly chatting about their weekends and how they didn't complete their homework.
Mrs. Nelson, a pretty middle aged woman with brown hair thrown into a bun stood at the front of the classroom.
"Good morning class. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I will now be collecting your essays on Shakespearean literature before we start our new subject." She weaves through the rows of desks, collecting essays. Pulling mine out of my folder, I place it on the desk. Once all the essays are collected she hands out packets for our next section of study, To Kill a Mocking Bird.
Copies of books are passed around showing wear and tear from years of abuse. Pages are dog eared, pen marks are permanently etched into the pages, and doodles grace the inside covers. The bell rings and chairs scraped against the floor, signaling students moving from one class to another. Emily and I go our separate ways.
The school day flies by and I say my farewells to my friends. I make it out to my car and head to the rinks, stopping at Dunkin Donuts for a quick snack. Pulling into the rink, I grab my bag and make my way the locker room. Ditching my sneakers for skates, I change and rush to the rink.
