Chapter Five

Two weeks later

I'm at a reception that Sam and Jade are giving for their marriage and to thank me too I'm also the chief guest . I insisted so much for not doing all of this but they persisted so I said okay. Jade is wearing a dress with one strap which lies on the right shoulder and its plain with some work done on it at the bottom of it and its done in baby pink colour the dress itself is in peach or in pale orange I can't really describe the colour of the dress. Her hair is tied in a bun.

I'm wearing a purple Mexi and it has a lot of embroidery on it I love the way it fits on my body and my hair is curled just the way I like it and I've put light makeup, I don't really do makeup its not my thing but on such occasions I do light makeup.

I'm standing with my school friends and waiting for Jade to come back so we can gossip as she's greeting Sam's friends right now. Everyone's eating desserts and having soft drinks while I'm so full cause I got home at 12 noon and made myself a proper lunch not like the ones I was having for the past couple of days like pastries and stuff as I was on duty and when I'm at work I can't really eat properly.

"Hey!" Ayla

I turn around.... "hey Ahsan how are you?"

"I'm good", he says while checking me out and I kinda find it annoying because I hate it....."you look beautiful by the way"

"Thank you Ahsan"
"You yourself don't look bad either", I say giving him a smile. He's wearing a two piece suit, his shirt is white while the pant and the coat is in black colour.

"Can I get you a drink or something", Ahsan says

"No, thank you... I'm full" I say

He laughs ..

"well I was observing you all this time and I clearly didn't see you putting anything in your mouth ", he says and chuckles

"Yeah yeah".... I say laughingly "I-uh... actually had a heavy lunch so I don't have the appetite to eat now " . He nods

Just then Jade comes back and greets Ahsan and as we're both about to talk he spots his colleague and excuses to meet him

"Ayla? Have you seen the way Ahsan looks at you. I gotta say he's so in to you", she winks and a huge smile covers her face

"Oh! Come on..... not again with this topic, can we just drop it for now?" I say. For the past two months jade has been telling me the way Ahsan looks at me, the way he cares about me and that he's so into me and I just brush it off as I don't buy whatever she says there's nothing or will be between the two of us other than being best friends. " There's no such thing as this we're just friends." I say but Jade is clearly not satisfied with my answer I can see it on her face.

"But maybe he wants to be more than being friends with you", she winks again

"Stop with the winking dude and there's no such thing at least not from my side" why can't she see that I'm not into him like that?

"Fine fine..... oh! Look look he's looking at you girl", Jade says.

I raise my eyebrow at her, "Jade stop teasing me", I say while sticking out my tongue at her playfully so that she should not think that I felt annoyed about what she just said because she'll tease me more that way.

After a couple of minutes Ahsan comes up to me and Jade excuses herself after having a small chat with Ahsan. Before Jade excuses herself she pulls me in a hug and whispers in my ear, " dude I know you'll be annoyed at what I'm about to say but just notice him for tonight at least that if what I'm saying is right or wrong" . And I just become stunt. " I love you too my lil sis ", I say to remove the awkwardness. And then she leaves. Just then Ahsan clears his throat.

"Ahm!! "
"Ayla would you like to do the honour of being my dance partner?"

I laugh...." look who's being a gentleman", I say teasingly

"Oh am I not a gentleman man?" he raises his right eyebrow at me

"I never said that but you know I can't do couple dance"

"I know but I can teach you... just say yes don't make me go on my knees and ask you." he chuckles
I roll my eyes at him.
"You really know how to convince me . Okay I will but don't complain if I step on your foot or something".

"I won't and even if you do I'm okay with it I'm a tough guy I can at least handle that" .

"Ohho! Okay then Mr tough guy what are you waiting for then?... teach me" I say mockingly.

He takes my hand in his and we walk towards the stage .

"Okay so first thing is that follow my lead and concentrate on the music and just stay calm"

I nod and he takes my right hand in his left hand, placing my left hand on his shoulder and puts his right hand on my back.

At first I would step on his foot or loose track of it but after couple of more mistakes I get the hang of it.

"There you go. Ayla khan now knows how to do couple dance", he smiles at me .

"Thank you Ahsan",I smile back at him.

Then we started to dance quietly and in between Ahsan would try so hard to make eye contact with me but I wasn't looking that much at him rather I was looking here and there thinking how much awkward the situation is and also observing him I did feel that Jade is right but then I quickly remove the thoughts and scold myself for thinking this way . Just then Ahsan brakes the silence making me come back to reality.

"Hey! I was thinking if you would like to go out with me? "

My eyes widen at his question and then narrow in confusion

"I mean if you're free we could hang out or something as its Saturday tomorrow and I have no plans so thought to spend some time with you " ... he scratches the back of his head realizing that I took his offer the other way & released from me gently .

"Yeah sure... sounds good to me"

"Great", Ahsan said

"But where anyway?", I question him.

"Its a surprise and I'll pick you up be ready by 9 ", he says happily but there was something else, I saw his eyes filled with joy like a three year old kid as if he'd got his birthday present or something which made me curious to know as to why he's acting this way. I said yes so that I can ask him tomorrow that why he's being weird nowadays.

"Alright, I smile at him.
