"Do I have to go?" I question.
"Yes Halos. We have been over this." Ulthel said.
I glare at Ulthel but continue to get ready. I hated the thought of being in a crowded area full of teenagers. I didn't want to fight Ulthel though. I was bigger than him, but he still had an advantage over me.
I got everything put into my book bag and started walking out the door. I saw other kids walking towards the bus stop and started heading over to them. But was stopped by Ulthel.
"We don't take the bus lad." He said to me and smiled.
I was happy about that. I turn and walk back into the house and wait for Ulthel to finish getting ready. Then we walk out to the car. He had a black 1964 Impala. It was a beautiful car. Wherever we went, people stared at us.
I hated the attention the car brought, but the car was actually pretty amazing. It was smooth riding and very good looking.
We got to the school and of course all the girls instantly ran to Ulthel. He was attractive and the impala made him seem even better looking. I don't know what it was, but the girls seemed to love the way he looked in the impala.
I slipped by without being noticed by all the girls. Good. I run into the school and get greeted with a ton of stares. I disliked the attention so I hid my face and continued walking and ignored everyone that approached me.
I walk down the hall and try to find a map of the place. I couldn't find any though. I hear the bell ring and begin panicking. Ulthel told me not to be late on the first day. I look at my schedule and begin looking for the room number.
I find the room at the end of the hall and run in. I made it right before the teacher came in. I look around for a seat and see an open one. I head over and ask if I could sit there. The person sitting next to the chair quickly answered and I couldn't help but smile. I thought it was actually cute the way they answered my question quickly.
I sit down and get the materials I needed out. I began writing things down and next thing I know the teacher is yelling.
"Fei pay attention"
I glance over and see the kid next to me tense up a little. They even turned red and hid more than they already were. I continue to look at Fei with curiosity. Fei looked up at me and I instantly looked back at my paper.
Suddenly the teacher began to pick partners. I wasn't okay with that. If I had to have a partner I hope it is Fei.
The teacher gets to Fei and says we are supposed to be partners. I smiled a little and get up and move a little closer to Fei. I introduce myself.
"My names Fei. But I go by Ray." Fei tells me.
I thought that was an interesting name and wanted to ask about it. Before I could ask Fei gave me a look that told me not to. I could tell Fei wasn't comfortable with me yet. Which I was a little upset about. I thought Fei was a cool name and Fei was cute as well.
The teacher gave us our project and I heard Fei chuckle a little bit. I look up and was about to ask why. Before I could Fei told me the Fei means faeries. Which I found a little ironic since we got supernatural beings for our project. My only issue was it brought back a lot of memories from my past.
Fei seemed to realize the change in my mood and didn't seem to like it. I didn't like seeing Fei look worried. Fei asked what we should do for the project and I suggested Angels. An easy topic for me to talk about but it was also the hardest topic for me.
"Let's do it" Fei says and even smiled at me. I guess trying to cheer me up, but I wasn't ready to be my normal happy self again just yet.
