"Kyle, your going against..."
My gym teacher waited a bit. I hate gym. This was the one time in the day that I dreaded the most.
"Bryce." My teacher concluded. I watched as Bryce stood up and walk over to one side of the gym. With a loud groan I got up and walk to the other side of the gym across from him. Slowly we both started our dragon transformations. Or that's what I would have liked to say. But in reality Bryce was the only one to shift. I on the other hand just stood there stairing off into space. Thing is. I can't turn into a dragon. It's been 5 years and still nothing. Most people have lost faith in me ever shifting. Some also question if I'm even a weredragon. I on the other hand could care less anymore I just wanted to move on from gym and leave school already. "So are you just going to stand there or are u going to transform?" My teacher asked me quickly losing his patience. Did I forget to mention that this teacher was new and I guess he wasn't informed about my incapability about shifting."I can't" I said bluntly.
"What do you mean "you can't"? You're a weredragon, are you not?"
"I am a weredragon"
"Then please inform me how a 16-"
"15" I said cutting him off. He grunted with anger all his patience gone in a blink of an eye. It's gonna be a long year. I thought to myself. He continued.
"Whatever" said through clenched teeth.
"How can a 15 year old boy not be able to shift."
"I couldn't transform the first time at ten like most are supposed to and since then I still can't, but I am without a doubt a weredragon. I go to therapy to try and get my dragon to come out but so far no such luck." I concluded matter of factly. My teacher just laughed then said.
"So basically you're just a screw up." He said and everyone started laughing. Honestly I don't know what was so funny. I grumbled under my breath and just left. I left the gym and school.I started to walk to my favorite place out of this whole town. It was a clearing deep in the forest. It wasn't far from the school a good 15 min walk. As I walked I started to think about my weredragon from when I was 10 to now.
So far it's been alot of therapy trying to get me to change. Then there's school where I'm more of an outcast with no friends. I laughed at myself bitterly. You know before this whole situation happend I would like to think I was pretty popular. I had alot of friends and alot of the teachers liked me. It was when everyone found out that my weredragon hadn't appeared is when they all just started drifting away. They wanted to spend time with people like them who they could talk about their new dragon with and ability with. I couldn't be that person for any of them because I wasn't like them. Even though I know very well that I'm a weredragon I sometimes wonder if I Really am?
I came to the entrance of "Mirror Dragon forest" the name of the forest. I gave a small sigh and entered.
"I'm back friend" I said as I walked in while touching some of the trees.I've been walking for a while as I came across my favorite tree in the forest. I sighed again as a smile spread across my face as I walked to wards the tree entering deeper into the clearing.
The area had tall grass and beautiful flowers that were scattered everywhere. And through the trees let a little bit of the suns light in. Having rays of light come in makes this place look even more beautiful. I always thought that when I found the one for me I'd want to get married to them here.
As I reached the tree it was when I noticed something or more like someone there. Where they sleeping?
It was a girl with wavy red hair.
The girl was wearing a red huddie and black ripped skinny jeans. I've never seen anyone else here before. I kneeled down and started to shake her shoulder."Excuse me." I said quietly. She didn't wake up. Wanting to get this over with I yelled and shook her like a mad man.
"EXCUSE ME!?!" I said. The girl opened her eyes then screamed bloody mary when she saw me, which made me do the same and fall backwards. I sat up and rubbed my head. I look back at the now terrified looking girl.
"Where's the dragon?" She asked alarmed looking left and right frantically.
"What?" I asked confused. She stopped searching around and looked at me. She had big emerald green eyes. I was mesmerized by them. She spoke again."I was being chased by an enormous black dragon in the woods and escaped through a mirror randomly sitting there in the forest."
"Well I'm not so sure about a black dragon around here so I'm pretty sure you're safe" I replied as I stood up offering my hand to her.
"Who are you anyways?" She asked eyeing me suspiciously as she took my hand and got up.
"I'm Kyle, your average teenager." I said with a smile. She back at me.
"The names Memphis, your not so average teenager" she replied with her hands on her hips.I think my life has added a new fun adventure to my list of boring day activities. I believe me and Memphis will be getting along just fine.
