Castiel adjusted his shirt cuffs, smiling at the people walking into his small church. "Father Castiel!" Castiel turned around, giving the person a warm and welcoming smile. "Andrea, how're you?" Andrea started to ramble. "Oh, doin' better. Rob said he wanted to get back together, but I don't really know if we should... What do you think?" Castiel looked at her, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Do what you think is right, and the Lord will make sure you're safe." Andrea nodded and thanked Castiel, rushing to get a spot in the pews.

Five minutes later and Castiel walked up in front of everyone, smiling at them all. "Good morning everyone," he got a wave of murmuring "good morning" in return. "Let us start off our day with a prayer for the people who are not with us today."

He pressed his hands together, closing his eyes and bowing his head. The people followed, some raising their hands. After a moment, Castiel spoke up. "Amen." Amens sounded all around and Castiel looked at everyone. "Let's get on with our day, shall we?"

I watched some people leave before running a finger along the inside of my collar, trying to cool down. Next was confessions, and those were always bemusing. You never knew what you were going to get: a lunatic or a sane.

I've had many people confess to me, and it's like my own weekly dose of gossip. I entered the confessional stall, leaning against the side wall. Something about today had me feeling like it was going to be boring, and I suppressed a sigh. I was a father, and I shouldn't show annoyance to my sons and daughters.

Someone entered the stall and spoke up before me. "Father Castiel," they began, their breaths shaky. "I-I have sinned." I leaned back, fanning myself. It got hot in these boxes. "And what have you sinned for, my son?" The man audibly gulped. "M-My wife came home the other day," I nodded, listening intently. "And we got in a huge fight." Was this all? Them fighting? "So she left and I didn't want to stay at our house so I went out."

I interrupted him smoothly. "Son, I do not see any reason for which you have sinned. Fighting is apart of life, and it's up to God to decide which way it goes." The man banged on the divider, making me jump. "You don't understand," he said hoarsely. "I slept with a man behind my wife's back—" he choked up, making me curious. "And...and I liked it."

So he was confessing for sleeping behind his wife's back with a man? I relaxed and laced my fingers together, looking ahead while I spoke. "Though it may be seen as a sin, loving another man is not. However, cheating on your wife is. I cannot tell you what to do, but I advise you talk. I pray for you to find your path, the Lord will speak when it's time." The man sniffed and left, and I rubbed my temple.

These things were so outrageous, that sometimes I felt like my ear was being tugged. Or was it arm? Someone else entered and I took in a deep breath. "Hello, my name is Father Castiel, what do you have to confess for our Lord?"

Sometimes I got people coming in the confessions, saying how the abused their wives or husbands, killed a man, cheated on their spouse and confess their sexuality. It wasn't at all intimidating knowing the confessions, it just got dreary over time. I've heard it all, what could make these more interesting?

"Father Castiel," a woman spoke, her voice low, "I have come for you."

I jerked back in surprise. What the? I turned to face the divider. "I beg your pardon?" It was silent and then she let out a dry laugh.
