The song above is Melanie Martinez's 'Dead to Me' ! I thought it was fitting because you have very mixed feelings in this chapter (')Ψ But don't worry Lovies! You have a 50% chance that it could end horribly (all depending on an up incoming choice chapter!!) ^^

It's hopeless. I will never see another human being for the rest of my life and even if I do I know they couldn't help me. No one can.

I sit, hunched over, atop a solitary rock that juts out like the bow of a ship in the middle of the meadow. If I turned my head to the right a little I could see our hut from here. Katsu watches me from the single window in the kitchen. I haven't had a moment alone since he brought me here, which was a week ago. I try to spend my days outside as much as possible. The wildflowers provide little medicinal use but still smell good.

"(Y/n), time to come back in!" Katsu yells from the hut. No, I don't want to go back. I hate it in there. I just want one more minute out here, in my false freedom. If I close my eyes and clear my mind I could imagine being here with my family instead. We use to go camping in places like this all the time back then. Haruki used to tie tire swings from the tallest branch he could find and we would have picnics while he swung. The sudden image of him swinging by his neck in my room flashes through my mind. I never saw him hanging but I can imagine his blue lips and white parlor. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up on end when I feel cold calloused hands grab my sides.

"I told you to come back inside," Katsu whispers in a deathly calm voice. My skin shivers away from him. I have no doubt in my mind that he was the one that killed Haruki, Yuki and probably May. There's no radio or tv in the hut so I have no idea if May was found dead or not. Katsu has shown me that bloody knife so many times I starting to lose hope. He hasn't washed it, just keeps it wedged tightly between the boards that make up our walls. I've tried to pry it from the boards but it wouldn't even budge under my weight. Katsu doesn't use it he has a variety of blades in his trunk.

I have memorized his schedule. Stay up until 11 PM and wake up at 4 AM. From 4 to 4:30AM he leaves and comes back usually with a rabbit or another small animal. Our diet has mainly been rabbits and the odd berries growing in the meadow. If they're poisonous they haven't killed me yet and more importantly they haven't killed Katsu yet.

As Katsu leads me by the hand, his nails digging into my skin. He turns around to face me with a warm smile that looks completely out of place under his cold gaze. The green clovers at our feet match his eyes perfectly except while his are hard like emeralds the ones below us bend and twist to the cool breeze. I can smell a coming storm on it.

"I've made lunch, princess. Next time please come when I call you." He tightens his grip when he says 'please'. I just nod.

When we arrive at the hut I can smell the cooking in the fire pit. katsu had built one just outside front door. A large skinned rabbit drips fat into to the flames that hiss and fuzz. I sight makes my stomach flip uncomfortably. I think I'll pass on lunch today. Katsu, on the other hand, breaks a leg off and bites into it. He doesn't say anything just rests a hand on my thigh tracing patterns up and down.

We are still dressed in the same clothes that we were wearing when we got here. The dirty water that comes from the sink is the only way to wash but I don't want to wash anything besides my face and hands when Katsu is around. But he has no problem washing in front of me.

A few drops of rain fall on my nose when I glance up at the sky. It has turned from robin egg blue to flowing steely feathers. It looks like it will start to downpour at any minute. I've always loved the rain. loved how it could wash away the pollution from the city but now I'm in the country and the rain means I have to stay inside a cramped hut with a psychopath.

"I didn't know how long the storm would last so I gathered a few more rabbits in case we're rained in." By the smile on his face, I can tell he doesn't mind being rained in as much as I do.

I frown at him. The storm wasn't obvious until a couple minutes ago. The only way he could know about the weather in advance was to go into civilization. I know he doesn't have his phone anymore I saw him smash both of ours with two rocks the first day here. I glance over at the truck from the corner of my eye. Fresh mud coats the tires and it seems to have moved from its previous spot. But I bet that if I went over to it the keys would be missing from the ignition. The keys would either be with Katsu or hidden somewhere nearby.

"Come. The wind is beginning to pick up and I don't want Princess getting a cold." Katsu hugs me gently from behind, rubbing his cheek against mine like an animal would. I can basically hear him growling in my ear. I open my mouth to ask for a few more minutes outside but a loud clap of thunder sounds over head cuts me and my argument off. I sigh before trudging inside with a joyous Katsu at my heels. As soon as the door closes he pins me with his body against it. He brings both my wrists above my head, capturing them in one of his hands. He smashes his lips to mine and I gasp in surprise allowing his tongue to enter my mouth. After a few seconds, the kiss turns soft. Katsu trails his hand gingerly up my side so I just feel a flutter of skin against skin. I'm frozen to the spot. I don't participate but I also don't move away. It's hard to remember that he's a murderer when he's so distracting. How could hands this tender hold a knife? How could theses lips that feel so silky smile so cruelly?

It's like Katsu is another person. He isn't harsh or aggressive. He's quiet and controlling. Not that he wasn't controlling before but now he seems almost nervous as he touches me. His hands shake in either excitement or fear. I've never known Katsu to fear anything so I begin to kiss him back. At first, he doesn't react and I start to think I was just imagining his trembling. However, as soon as I think that Katsu lets go of my hands so he can pick me up by the waist. Our kiss deepens as I wrap my legs around him. Somewhere deep down I know this is wrong. A nagging voice stops me from losing myself completely in Katsu's intense eyes. All I can think of is May and how different her eyes looked at me when she kissed me. The look in Katsu sends a thrill through me but it isn't the same. This one is fueled by fear and terror.

Lighting flashes in through the window lighting up our two bodies in their tangled position. Katsu leaves a trail of kisses down my throat as he walks over to the bed. He places me gently on the downy mattress. The sensation brings a foggy memory of him carrying my to his truck when I was unconscious. That was the last day I would ever be free. The last day I would ever see May...

Tears spring to my eyes at the thought of May dead.Katsu sucks in a harsh breath and takes my head in his hands.

"I promise I won't hurt you." He whispers as he wipes away my tears. I don't have any idea what he's talking about and don't want to. It's only when his hands go lower that my eyes widen in realization.
