We drove into New York at about 8 o'clock pm, which was pretty great because we woke up at 7 o'clock am in Chicago and we drove for most of the day with the exception of a 1 hour break.
Jason dropped me off to my new apartment, I would be attending New York University so I thought why not get a roommate and share a New York apartment.
Jason looked interested as John had come out of the building to help me with my belongings "Hi, my name is John Stewart," John said extending an arm for a hand shake. Jason seemed like he was not impressed "I'm Jason" he said refusing the hand shake, but instead handing him a bag. That was incredibly rude. I shook Johns hand and he led us into the apartment. "I don't trust him, he's too manly to be gay," Jason whispered to me. I felt a little insulted. "Jason, mind your manners. I like him and I don't want to be kicked on the street my first night because of my obnoxious boyfriend," I whispered back to him. "I still don't think he's gay," Jason whispered to me as John opened the door to find an interesting looking apartment John came in and there was a man standing in front of the couch. He was tall, thin and masculine, similar muscle features as John had, he had a short buzz-cut and what little hair he had looked like he had brown hair. He looked rugged though, as he did have a short beard, and was wearing a plaid button up shirt "Sarah, Jason, this is my boyfriend Aaron. Aaron, meet Sarah my new roommate" John said motioning towards Aaron.
"Still think Johns not gay?" I whispered to Jason, but John must have heard because he stopped his conversation with Aaron. "I am gay, even if I seem like I'm not because of that stupid stereotype that all gays are feminine," he said looking towards Jason, sounding like he was getting mad. "I'm sorry, I'm just a little..." Aaron stopped Jason before he was done. "Believe me, Mr. Eh I didn't get your last name. What was it?"
"Kensington" Jason said as Aaron had completed asking. "Yes, Mr. Kensington I understand why you are feeling a little bit protective of Mrs. Watson. I was the same with my last girlfriend."
"Girlfriend?" Jason had said as a reply "yes, I'm not a complete gay, I'm bisexual meaning I'll date men and women, but not at the same time." I laughed at that, Jason did not.
This led to an argument. Leading to John and me bringing all of my stuff up as Aaron entertained the baboon. When it was time for Jason to leave, he walked to me and kissed me. I stopped him in his tracks. John and Aaron looked at each other in astonishment. Then Aaron left with Jason.
"Do you need me to help you unpack?" John asked me. I knew he was trying to become good friends with me. I smiled "I'd like that," I said as I grabbed a bag. He followed me and grabbed a bag. "Your boyfriend seems protective. Don't worry, mine is too." John said kindly.
John was a tall man, he had longish hair, not long to be a ponytail, but long enough for him to have to comb it. His muscles were large, but not so big that they break his shirt. "This is your room," he said motioning to a beautiful looking room. It had one table, and a bed. "Thank you," I said as I put a bag on my bed. You would think he would leave, but he instead stayed in the room. I looked at my phone to see I had a text. "Shit" I said as I was thinking out loud. "What is it?" John said "Jason, I am looking at the picture of his car that had a huge dent in it, he said that Aaron hit the car."
"WHAT? No way. Aaron is a sweet guy, he would never do that to someone he just met" John said as he pulled out his gold, galaxy s7 john got up and walked to the other room in our studio apartment, that has one bedroom. Which now that I think about it, isn't really a studio apartment. I could hear the heels of his shoes click clacking as I dialed Jason's phone number. He answered sounding as content as could be. "Sarah, what's up?" I began pacing as I was starting to talk to Jason. "He didn't do it did he?" I said as I was pacing. "Nope, staged it."
"Why?" I asked right after he finished saying what he said. "You saw how that homo was acting, as proud as can be. Like being gay is a good thing" I almost dropped my phone when Jason said that. "Listen, if you still want the title of boyfriend, you will never speak of my friends like that again. You got that?" I basically yelled to him. John was in his own argument and I could hear some muffled noise. "No, that guy you are staying with acts like its okay for someone to fuck with their own gender, its revolting to hear. And my girlfriend will not only hear of, but he will see it too. Is it wrong for someone to protect their girlfriend from that?" he replied trying to remain calm. "YES, THAT IS WRONG! You know, I don't want to see you anytime soon, until you apologize to John and Aaron. I will no longer be your girlfriend. And for your information, love is love. Regardless of gender, sexuality, and race" I said then hung up. John then walked in with a grim smile. "Didn't go well for you either did it?" I looked at him and he looked like he was on the verge of tears. "I broke up with Jason." He tried a smile, "I know, I heard. If it makes you better, I broke up with Aaron"
"Why?" I said as I looked up trying to stop the waterworks. "Why else? Jason kind of egged on a fight between Aaron and I, I know what we could do to forget our horrid boyfriends"
"What?" I said as I looked at my phone that was in the process of blowing up with messages. John walked out, but only for a few seconds. "Meet the only guys in our lives who shall continue to give us happiness. My boyfriend Ben, your boyfriend Jerry" John said grinning with two pints of ice cream and two spoons.
We ate and talked. We talked about our new exes. "I met Aaron at a science fair that was for professionals. His eyes just met with mine as we first bumped into the molecular transfusion machine. He took me to some crappy bar on our first date, and that was where we had our first kiss." John said with a mixture of love and hate. "What about you and Jason?" John asked after he told his story about Aaron and him. "Well, Jason is usually a romantic. Always opening doors, grabbing my hand, taking me to fancy restaurants. I remember on our first date, Jason seemed so nervous, but he showed me this one thing where as you spin an olive around in a cup, and the gravity temporarily turns into anti-gravity and makes the olive float as the cup Is spinning. WE met because we both had the same young literature class. He was introduced to me by a friend. Our last date before we left Seattle was the best." John looked curious, "What was it?" I told him about our date and everything that happened on the ride to New York. "Awwwwww, how romantic. May I ask you something? Why does Jason seem homophobic?" he asked as he took a spoonful of his ice cream. "You know, I really don't know why. He did a lot of destruction, but he's usually a very nice man. However, we both saw his true colors this evening," I said as I looked down to see Jason apologizing, and asking to get back together and all that bullshit.
"Well, we have a busy day tomorrow, I'll drive you If you want, Dr. Apollo will keep you guys busy tomorrow, so this will be the end of the evening." John said as he helped me make my new bed. I looked at the clock on my phone it said 11:30 "goodnight" john had said, but I wasn't going to let that be it. "John?" I said then John turned around "yes?"
"Thank you for everything, and I'm sorry about Jason fucking things up with you and Aaron." He looked at me and tried to smile. He then walked up to me "it's okay, Aaron always got drunk and came to beat the shit out of me, so I knew it would be over soon" he said as he hugged me. HOLD UP this man is a hugger, and damn I didn't know people could give a good hub, but John was an excellent hugger.
John went to bed turned off the lights, and I turned off my lights, but only to sit on my bed to look at my phone. Jason continued to yell in text, he continued to say "I'm sorry" and all of that crap. I replied to him once "I'm not accepting your apology, you did a lot of destruction, you tore their relationship apart, and you tore ours too. Good night" which I guess made him text me even more saying things like "go to hell you Jewish Whore" and "you chose the homo you just met over the one you had sex with last night" I refused to continue the fight. I just put my head on my pillow and rested my eyes, tomorrow will be another day.
