"Sir, yes sir!" We all shout, not really at him, but to the air directly in front of us. He was watching Judy with a thoughtful look on his face.
He tears his gaze away from her, and I shift closer to her subtly. What are your intentions, sir? It takes all my willpower to not ask him and crack a joke while I'm at it. But, if I did that, I'm half afraid Judy would kill me. It's not like she needs my protection. She can handle herself.
My arm starts getting a tired from keeping up the salute.
"At ease." FINALLY! I'm no glutton for punishment, and my arm almost shouts for joy as I lower it.
"Today we will be going over your physical combat skills. Pair up. Let's see what ZPD officers can do." He flashes us a grin that makes me understand just how dangerous a rabbit he is. I bet Judy could take him.
Just my luck. I'm paired up against Higgins. The hippo whom I owe money. Great. Why do these things ALWAYS happen to the criminally handsome fox? Karma itself hates me. Mouth guard in, and gloves on. He'll crush me like a bug. But let it not be said that I went down without a fight.
At least I'm not fighting Carrots. I like my bones INTACT, thank you.

I'm paired up against one of our tiger officers, Officer Jackson. We've sparred in the past, so I'm confident I can beat him.
Jackson smiles lazily at me as we put our gear on. "Try not to bruise my face up too much, alright? I've got a date tonight."
I grin. "I'll do my best, Lee. Try not let a widdle bunny crack your ribs like last time."
He looks offended. "That was ONE time! and it hurt like the devil. You still haven't apologized."
I start walking towards the makeshift arena. I call back over my shoulder. "Should I?" A saucy grin plays across my lips. Oh, this is gonna be fun.
