When I returned to my friend's flat later, they were making dinner. "Hey guys, enough for me? I'm starving" I asked. They looked at me, then each other, and then bursted out laughing. "Didn't have any time to eat, huh?" Emily asked. I blushed uncontrollably. "We were... Preoccupied" I replied, slightly embarrassed. "Yeah, I bet you were. But yes, there is enough for you" Charlie said. I went to change my clothes, and when I came back, dinner was ready. "So tell us about your date, or whatever you want to call it. We promise not to tease you anymore" Charlie said. "Well, she promises. I, however, retain my right to mock and ridicule" Emily added, laughing. "Well, thankfully, I was waiting for karma to catch up to me, on that one" I replied. Emily sighed. It's no fun to tease someone, if they don't mind it. "That said, it was really-uhm-good, yeah good" I continued. "That's what you're going to leave us with? 'It was good'?" Emily replied, in a mocking tone. "We want dirt" Charlie added. Why did they have to push this? Yes, the date was absolutely amazing. But now that I wasn't with Daniel, it was easier to remember that in two weeks, we would have to be apart, for god knows how long. I didn't need to reminisce about this date, when it would end soon. I sighed loudly. "What do you want me to say? That I had the two most amazing days of my life with him, and that I don't want it to end in two weeks? There, I said it" I snapped. Their faces fell. "Did you ever consider going with him to America?" Emily asked hesitantly. Of course I had considered that. But one of the rather unfortunate habits I got from my parents is cautiousness. I don't have the courage to risk it. At least, I don't think I do. "You know me, guys. Remember when I was accepted into a university here in the UK, but declined their offer, because I would have a debt to pay once I graduated. I don't like to take risks, I like to play it safe. What if I went with him, and it didn't work out? Where would that leave me? It scares the shit out of me". They looked at each other, Emily gave Charlie a nod. What was that about? They looked back at me. "Forgive me for saying this, but that's exactly why you should do it. Break out of your comfort zone, for once. Take a chance on this. Take a chance on love. And don't even try to tell me it's not love yet. We've seen the way you look at each other. It may not be full blown, fairy tale love yet, but you're falling in love with each other. Anyone can see that" Charlie said. I didn't know what to say. I knew she was right, but something is holding me back. Suddenly my phone started ringing. Charlie looked at it, then turned it towards me. Daniel. I shook my head. I couldn't talk to him now after the conversation I had just had with the girls. She answered it. "Hey Daniel, it's Charlie. She's... Showering" she said into the phone. I shook my head rapidly. I had already showered. "Uhm, I mean, shaving. Her legs, yeah yeah shaving". Wow, clever answer, Charlie, just peachy. I only heard tidbits of the conversation. "Yes, she made it back safely." "She did too." "I'll just give her the phone" she said, as she handed it to me. "Just talk to him!" She said, a little too loud. I took a deep breath. "Hi Daniel" I said into the phone, as I left the table. "We're you avoiding my call?" He asked, slightly concerned. "No, I just.. I mean, I was just... I wasn't ready" I finally admitted. "Would you rather we talk later?" He asked. "No. I don't know. I don't know what I want." He laughed slightly. "I can't help it, I'm a girl after all, we don't always know what we want." I explained. "Want to know what I think? I think you want this, just as much as I do, but you're scared of what's going to happen, so you'll try to push me away, but it's not going to work. I won't let you. Get used to that" He replied. I laughed slightly. He was right. "Well, good. I need someone to stop me from making horrible decisions". It was his turn to laugh. We were on the phone in silence for a while, before finally hanging up. I joined my friends. I interrupted their conversation, and it seemed like they didn't want me to hear what it was about, but I just let it go. I tend to do that. I'm not a very curious person. "I'm going to go to bed. I'm tired, it's been a long, emotional day" I told them. They nodded, understandingly. "Goodnight".

When I woke up the next day, my friends were suspiciously absent. Not anywhere to be found in the flat. I texted them. Nothing. I called them. No answer. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I opened to find Daniel on the other side. He leaned against the door frame with a smirk on his face. I realized I was only wearing a shirt, again. "Well, are you coming in, or are you just going to stand there, and look at me in all my half-naked glory?" I asked. "Honestly, I would prefer the latter, but I can take a hint" he said, as he walked in closing the door behind him. I turned around to walk away, but he grabbed my hips, and pulled me towards his chest. "What? Don't I get a morning kiss?" He asked nibbling gently at my ear. I turned around and put my arms around his neck. "Hmm, I don't know. I don't know if you've really earned it" I said with a smirk, my lips hovering his. "Come on love, don't be such a tease" he said, as he brought his right hand under my shirt, and moved it up my side. I gasped slightly, when he reached the side of my breast. I turned my head to the side. "Oh, now you're definitely not getting one" I laughed, before turning my head back. "You think you can resist all of this" Daniel asked, using his hand gesturing toward himself. I laughed more, before pulling him into a passionate kiss. "Guess not". We went into the kitchen where he started making breakfast for me. "So, do you have any idea why my friends were gone when I woke up this morning?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Me? Of course not. Okay, I might know something, but I'm not allowed to say anything about it. You'll appreciate it, trust me" he said, walking towards me, hovering his lips over mine. "Now, who's the tease?" I asked. He simply walked back to the counter. Tease. "Alright, well, while you do that, I'm going to go get dressed" I stated. "Oh no, you're not. I'm making you breakfast here, and I want that impeccable view while I do" he said, grabbing my hands. "I expect that kiss then". He grabbed my neck and pulled me into a long, gentle kiss. When we pulled apart, my lower back rested against the counter. Suddenly, we were brought out of our daze by coughs. I turned to find Emily and Charlie standing in the kitchen, smiling widely. "Surely didn't mean to interrupt your little.. Rendezvous. We'll just get out of your way" they said quickly. I broke out of Daniel's grasp, and cleared my throat. "Uh, no, stay, we.. Uhh.. You didn't interrupt anything. I was just about to go change, actually." I walked into the bedroom, quickly changed into a pair of jeans, and a shirt, and returned to the kitchen, interrupting a conversation between the three. What are they up to? "What are you three up to?" I asked, suspiciously. "Huh? What? Nothing. Actually, I was just telling Daniel about some of the things you did in high school, you know, like falling up the stairs, once or twice, or, I don't know, a million times" Emily blurted out laughing. Seemed convincing. "It is not as bad as it sounds" I quickly defended. I sat down at the table in defeat when they all started laughing. He brought me a plate of food. I smiled. He sat down next to me. "Well, we've got things to do, places to be, bla bla bla, so we'll leave you to it" Charlie said, mimicking my bla's. I grunted slightly, causing her to laugh. When they had left, Daniel pulled me into his lap, and nuzzled his face in the crook of my neck, as I ate. "Thanks for breakfast" I said, mouth almost full. "You're welcome. You seem to be really enjoying it, I'm glad" he replied, his accent really strong. "So what's the plan for today?" I put my arm around his neck, as I turned slightly in his lap, facing him. He smirked before starting to leave gentle kisses along my jawline, stopping to suck lightly at the skin below my ear. "Da-Daniel" I stuttered. I could feel his smile against my skin. "While I'm I'm-mmensely enjoying this, this is definitely not the place for it" I scolded lightly. "Well, good because I have other plans for us today" he replied before getting up and dragging me out into the hallway. We put on our shoes, and he ushered me out the door before him, slapping my ass in the process. "Sorry, I couldn't resist" he smirked. Once outside, he put an arm around my shoulder, pulling me close, while I put my arm around his middle. Being this close felt nice. All my worry vanished. For now.
