"Hunter? What the hell are you doing?" A voice woke me up from a very deep sleep. Jerking awake once again, I rolled off the backseat and onto the floor of my car. Groaning and looking to the voice, I found Ward standing next to the open car door.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" I retorted, not being able to resist being a smart ass. I sat up and rubbed my face. "What time is it?"
"Seven a.m. And I meant, why are you sleeping in your car?" Ugh, I only slept for three or so hours.
"It's what I'm used to. Well, that and crappy motels beds."
"See, Ward!" Skye said as she walked down the stairs. " It's not that weird to be used to sleeping in your car." She said it as if they had this conversation all the time. I bet they did.
"At least yours is a van. Those actually have room to sleep. Yours," he turned back to me, "is like trying to sleep on a park bench."
"Yeah, and the closet called a room on this plane is so much better," I replied. Both Ward chuckled and Skye opened the front passenger door to my car and sat down. She looked around a bit.
"The inside is as nice as the outside."
"You think you'd trade your van for something like this?" I asked. Skye laughed and shook her head.
"No, Hunter. This is perfect for you but not near enough room for me to do my hacking." We all laughed at that. Well, Ward did his little chuckle again. I don't think he can actually laugh.
"True. The trunk more than makes up for the lack of room up here, though," I replied with a smirk.
"Oh, God. You and your arsenal." Skye groaned. I just laughed.
"Yeah, I do. But, I guarantee you that everything in there has saved my ass more timed than I can count."
"How long have you been doing....whatever it is that you actually do?" Ward asked.
"Like I said when we first met, my whole life. I was raised doing this. I didn't actually start hunting until I was a teenager and I was always with my dad or brother, but I've been around it since a few months after I was born."
"Damn. You never wanted out?" Skye asked.
"Oh, sure. But I had a job to do. Plus, both of my brothers tried having normal lives and it didn't work out." Ward and Skye nodded and let the subject drop. Ward spoke up again after a few seconds.
"Hey, Skye and I are going to start our morning training. Wanna join?" Ward offered. I quickly nodded, excited to be able to get out some of the pent up emotions I always seemed to have a surplus of.
"Is that a good idea? With your nose being broken and all," Skye interjected before I could verbally reply. I shrugged.
"Eh, if my nose getting hurt is a problem, it means my fist aren't doing their job well enough," I replied with a chuckle. Skye just rolled her eyes.
"Alright," Ward began, "But take it easy. You need to be able to breathe. And I think Coulson will have an aneurysm if any more blood gets on the Bus." We all laughed at Ward's remark and I left the two so I could go to my closet- I mean room- to get changed. Getting into a pair of Dean's old sweatpants (they had to be rolled up quite a bit at the bottom), a sports bra, and one of Sam's old t-shirts that I cut the sleeves off of; I went back to where Ward and Skye were waiting. Once Ward saw me coming, he started explaining what he wanted Skye and me to do. Skye, however, took a second to look over my outfit, something I didn't really pay much attention to. I always dressed weird compared to other people. I didn't really care either.
