"Please please please, tell me your kidding?" I laughed nervously praying for a different answer.

Sara's POV
"Alright, Mom"

"I've Gotta run" I said, hugging her from the side.

"I know, it's just..you've grown up so  fast.. I wish your father would be here, to see you now" she said getting tearful.

I agree this day would be better if he were here. But Sadly the universe hates me and he's not.
But we can't dwell on what's already happened.

Much to my mothers disapproval, being her youngest. I left the nest and joined the work forces.
I put feelings aside unlike my sister who went out and got engaged at 17, I went to college and took some business courses so I could make it big.

"I miss him too mom, but we can't keep dwelling on the fact he's not here" I said fading out on the last part. It came out harsher then I intended but to be fair, she spent many years morning her loss and neglecting her responsibilities as a mother.

"Anyway," I said pulling away from her hug.

"I've got to go, before I'm late" I huffed, slamming my car door.
She sighed before giving me a sad smile and let me carry on with my things.

Today's the day, I start my new job, I had just been promoted which definitely makes working at this crappy office much more rewarding.
As rewording as working for one of the biggest most spoiled brats in the world can be.

I looked out the car window and waved to my mom and gave a small nod to my step dad while he just looked down at me. Of course I knew he wouldn't be pleased by something I did, but I still made effort.

Steven, my step dad always resented me because I was my mothers favorite, she loved me more then his bitch of a daughter and he hated it.

Although I'd thought he'd be happy that I was finally leaving for good, new job less time to spend over at the house.

Humming to the radio I moved my bag into the passenger seat letting out a huff.
and started the long drive to work.

"Happy birthday, dad" I whispered

***
Sighing I listened to my assistant. Yes my assistant! I have my own assistant I feel so accomplished; like I officially have my own as- okay way off topic.

I listened to her go on and on, about my daily busies and the work and meetings I must attend. Yes meetings that are mandatory that I attend. Because finally my opinion matters.

"And one more thing, Don't forget the boss, needs to you at one"She  added.

" Is that all?"

" Yes, after your meeting with Mr. Bryant you have the rest of the afternoon to relax"

"Alright, thanks again "

"No problem. It is my job to make sure you get everywhere on time"
I gave her a small smile before she hurried off before making  my way to my office and starting  my work.
By work I mean reading documents and random emails just to seem like I'm busy.  My real work won't start till I get home and have to sort out all the other employees stuff.. oh the joys of working in an office.

"Ah, Miss brooks. My favorite new Wor- I mean associate" John, my "boss" greeted as he strolled in. Cocky asshole.

He claims where all on the same level now, since I've been promoted.
But we all know he's just an entitled cocky rich boy who gets everything he wants from his father.
