"Please, stop!" I screamed at the man who's gun was pointed directly at Harry's head.

I ran further out of the woods, tears streaming down my face.

Harry looked at me, fear in his eyes. "Rowan, get somewhere safe, plea-"

He couldn't say anymore. His lifeless body lay before me, a pool of blood surrounding his head.

The man pointed his gun towards me, his finger gently resting on the trigger.

"No!" I screamed, waking myself up. I looked around me, realizing I was just dreaming. I was covered in layers of sweat.

Harry ran into the room I was staying in and barged in the door.

"Holy s.hit, is everything okay?" he asked, his features softening with relief.

I nodded and threw the covers off of me. It was so hot.

"I just had a bad dream, I'm sorry for waking you up." I looked over at the clock to see that it was four in the morning.

Harry held out his hand for me to take and pulled me off the bed. He led me to the bathroom and turned on the shower.

I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Why are you starting the shower?"

"You're dripping in sweat, darling."

"I could've turned the shower on myself." I felt heat travel to my face from embarrassment.

Harry rubbed his eyes and ran a hand through his messy curls. "I'll go get your clothes and set them outside the door."

I nodded and he left the room.

I walked down the hallway, heading to Harry's room. I quietly opened the door, and noticed he was on the phone.

I'm not one to eavesdrop, but this conversation that Harry was having intrigued me.

"Two of them showed up last night, I took care of them." He said quietly into the phone. His back was facing me, so I couldn't see his facial expressions.

Harry must have been talking about those people from last night. So he knew them?

I noticed him nod his head. "So slowly killing off each of them is what we're going to do? You know that will take years, Boss."

Boss? This is starting to add up. Last night he said those guys wanted something from him. I didn't think it was this serious.

"I didn't check to see what condition I left them in. I shot one in the shoulder, and beat the other. Dead or not, we won't have to worry about them."

I folded my hands together, which were starting to shake from nervousness.

Is this Harry's job? To hurt people?

I knocked on the door and he quickly turned around, giving me a fake smile.

"I'll call you back later." Harry said into the phone.

After walking in his room, I sat on his bed. "Who was that?"

He fumbled with his hands for a moment before answering.

"My mother, she won't be home till tomorrow, she was just reminding me." Harry quickly explained.

Seriously, Harry?

I hummed to myself instead of answering. I see why he's so secretive about this, hurting people for money.

"Could you take me home, please? I have to work today." I spoke up after a few minutes of silence. I'm not working today, I'm finding out what Harry is up to. At least that's what I plan to do.

"Of course. By the way, I really am sorry about last night. I don't even know what that was all about."

"You don't know?" He literally just lied, straight to my face.

He shook his head no.

"That's weird, I recall you saying that they wanted something from you." I stuttered a bit while trying to get a point across.

Harry ran his hands through his hair and let out a deep sigh.

"I don't remember saying that, it's probably just your imagination, baby."

That got me thinking, was it my imagination? No, no, it wasn't. He's messing with my head. Two can play at this game, Harry.

I stood up from the bed. "You're right, I'm just shook up." as long as he's trying to make me believe one thing, I'll make him believe another.

He looked relieved as I went along with his lie.

You aren't as slick as you think, Harry.
