I made this timeline to help you understand how Alice's backstory happened in my book. (:

1. Alice visits Wonderland for the 1st time as a little girl, at the age of 6. There is peace in the land and everyone and everything is normal. (From all 3) 2. She tells her parents about it, and neither of them think anything of it. A few other times throughout her childhood, she visits Wonderland again, and she's always talking about it. Her parents just brush it off and say she has a very big imagination. When she's 9, her parents start to get worried about how she's always talking about Wonderland. They convince young Alice that Wonderland is not a real place and it's only a fantasy, all in her head. (From my own mind) 3. At the age of 16, Alice's mother dies of cancer. One day she goes wandering in the woods, just to take her mind off things, and she sees the white rabbit. The rabbit leads her down the rabbit hole once more. Things have started to change slightly in Wonderland; it's more gloomy. While she's there, Alice finds a genie named Cyrus. They start to fall in love with each other. He teaches Alice some things you should know how to do in Wonderland. Just as they think they can run off together, everything goes awry. The Red Queen takes the reign over Wonderland from her sister, the White Queen, on a day they call Frabjous Day. Cyrus successfully helps Alice escape Wonderland, getting himself held prisoner by the Red Queen in the process. (From all 3) 4. Alice tells her father that she visited Wonderland once more. Not wanting Alice to start obsessing over this so-called "Wonderland" again, he puts her in a mental institute. For 4 years, at the age of 20, Alice escapes from the institute with the help of the white rabbit. He brings Alice back to Underland, which is what Wonderland is now called, in hopes of her slaying the Jabberwocky and restoring the depressing and gloomy Underland back to the joyful and happy Wonderland. (From all 3) 5. Alice ends up being the "right Alice" and slays the Jabberwocky. She restores Wonderland to its past glory with the White Queen reigning once more. Alice eventually gets reunited with her love, the genie, Cyrus. (From all 3) 6. Alice and Cyrus leave Wonderland together, not knowing if they'll ever see it again, and start a life together.

A/N: So, that's pretty much what Alice's backstory is. I'll go into detail with the backstory throughout my book.
