It's just a normal weekend at Beacon, Nora was with Ren, Weiss is studying with Pyrrha and Jaune proving himself to Ruby that he can win over a girl's heart. "Just watch Crater Face." Jaune said to Ruby who was watching him intensely. "I am, Vomit Boy." Ruby replied, returning the favor of nickname calling.

Jaune started his way towards the girls. Weiss and Pyrrha stared at him as he approached them. He opened his mouth to say something, but Weiss got ahead of him, "No, Neither of us will not be going out with you. As you can see, we're studying. " She said. Pyrrha wanted to say something but decided not right now. Vomit Boy, feeling sad, made his way back to a certain Crater Face. "Who's next?" Ruby asked.

"What about your sister, Yang?" He said jokingly.

"Sure, why not?"

"Wait! I was just joking!" The librarian shushed them, reminding them that they're in a library.

"Well, she would usually flirt with boys, and they would flirt back.". Ruby replied, more quietly.

...

They found Yang in the kitchen, easily opening a stubborn jar of pickles. "Hey, uh, Yang!" Jaune called out. Yang glanced at him as a response. " Are you free next Saturday?". He asked.

"No."

"Why?!"

"Because someone still owes me a drink"

(Quick note: This is in between volume 2 and 3)

Jaune let out what seemed to be a mixed between a frustrated groan and a sigh. He gave up for the day and decided to hangout with Ruby more. They've been hanging out for the past few weekends but never at night, after all, he had training with Pyrrha during night.

Ruby was walking Zwei around the campus when she stumbled upon Pyrrha. "Hey Pyrrha." She greeted in her usual tone. "Oh hey Ruby," Pyrrha said. "I was hoping you knew where Jaune went." She continued.
"No." She lied. She saw him pass by a few minutes ago, he said that he'll be in their dorm, doing homework for the rest of the day. She didn't know why she lied nor did she know why she hated seeing the two of them together.

"Oh, thank you, anyway." Pyrrha replied as she walked away. Ruby walked Zwei around more when her scroll rang. Jaune was messaged her.
Vomit Boy: Hey
Vomit Boy: Hey
Crater Face: Hmm?
Vomit Boy: Guess what?
Crater Face: What?
Vomit Boy: I have a date with Pyrrha

Her smile faded as she read the message. Ruby felt something. She didn't know what it is but she's sure that it's a mixture of happiness and something else. She wanted it for her friend but not for herself.

She cried silently that night. She wore her Beowolf eye mask, making it damp with tears.
