Severus walked into the boathouse and saw a lone figure on the top floor, their legs dangling down. He climbed the ladder as quietly as he could and gently tapped Rosie on the shoulder.

"Yes?" Rosie turned and saw him, her smile turning to a frown. "You..."

"Now Rosie, listen I can explain-" he was cut off.

"No, YOU listen! You cannot just barge into people's heads without their consent. It's not right. And I swear, if you do that again Mister, I will..." she stopped to think.

"You'll what? Dye my hair? Draw on me again to catch my attention?!" he yelled back.

The tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The two remained silent, glaring at one another. Finally, the knife came.

"No, but I'll do this!" Rosie shouted as she shoved Severus into the water nearly ten feet below them.

Just before he fell, he managed to grab her hand and drag her down with him. She screeched and waved her airs wildly in the air and landed on top of Severus after he backslammed into the water. Rosie rolled off him and began to sink in the water. Severus climbed out, coughing and sputtering, holding his ribcage where Rosie landed. Turning back, he saw the black cape of his roommate reach the top, but never her.

"Rosie?" he looked around, sorry etched in his face. "Rosie?!"

Severus managed to catch a glimpse of the few bubbles starting to appear and relaxed.

"Just had the wind knocked out of her and is taking a second before coming up to scare me. Rosie! I know you aren't drowning. Come on, this isn't funny." he talked to himself and the girl that was steadily sinking. "Rosie, get out." he started to panic as the bubbles of air became less and less.

He dove into the water upon not seeing her once the bubbles stopped and looked around under the water. He cast the bubble head charm and swam deep into the water, looking for her. He finally caught sight of Rosie at the bottom of the lake, entangled in weeds and surrounded by vile beasts of the water. He pulled out his wand and made the beasts disappear, leaving him able to grab her and swim to the surface.

"Rosie, breath." Severus nearly shouted once both of them were out of the water. "Rosie!" he yelled.

She never responded. He began trying to do CPR, but having little to no knowledge of the process, it did no good. He looked at her softly before running to the medical wing and dragging Madam Pomfry out to help.

"Why didn't you just bring her to me?" the nurse shouted and began working with the small bag she managed to grab.

"It would have taken too long with us both sopping wet." he heaved, out of breath from the sudden run.

"Well, either way she's got water in her lungs and we need to get it out." she grabbed his hand and pulled him down. "When I say so, I want you to shove down with all your might right here." Madam Pomfry out his hand on Rosie's chest.

Severus muttered about how this could hurt her even more, but Madam Pomfry silenced him. She began the process of getting the water out with CPR and soon enough, Rosie was puking out water. Severus held her hair back and watched silently as Madam Pomfry checked her over.

"There. You should be back to tormenting Professor Snape within the week." the nurse smiled and walked back to her wing of the school.

Rosie looked to Severus with a glare.

"I nearly DIED because of you!" she wheezed.

"But you DIDN'T!" he sighed and stood.

"But I could have." she coughed out more water and shakily stood.

"Listen, I'm sorry. I didn't know that you disliked getting your head pried through and that you couldn't swim." he helped her stand.

"No, I love getting my head looked through forcibly and I just avoid all deep water wherever I go because I don't like the way it looks." she sneered, sarcasim oozing out with her words.

"I'm sorry." Severus sighed.

"Fine." Rosie walked away from him a good ways before pulling out her wand and pointing it at him.

"Reducio." she smirked as his back was turned as the spell raced towards him.

"Protego." he whipped around just in time to deflect the spell back to her.

She yelped and darted towards the school, but the spell slammed into her back. Rosie groaned and stood, looking around.

"Severus?" her tiny body was smaller than the grass.

She heard loud footsteps and looked up to see said person looking down with a smirk. Rosie glared and reached up for him.

"Help me you stupid jerk!" her voice sounded like a squeak to the potions master, causing him to laugh and bend down to pick her up.

"Change me back!" she growled.

"Hmmm..." he smirked. "No."

"Severus, don't. You. Dare!" she yelled.

"I'm getting revenge for those pranks." he smirked and held her tiny form in his hands.

"I'll just make myself bigger." she brought out her tiny wand.

"And risk making yourself too big to the point in which you explode?" Severus raised his eyebrow questioningly.

There were small mutters of words that should not be said around children as Rosie put her wand in her pocket. Returning her glare back up at him, she huffed.

"I'll get you for this." she shouted.

"I'm sure you will." he rolled his eyes and put her on his shoulder, walking back to the castle.
