Kelsey wiped her tears away, and pulled from the hug, "You know, you're the first person to ever properly listen to me... I think I know just what I'mma start callin' you!" Jarrett raised his brow in response a wide smile on her face. "Ears. I'mma start calling you Ears. It's cute, and clever, and you're all ears." She laughed.
"That's my new name then I guess. Ears. Hm, it suits me I suppose. I am the stereotypical Irish lad, with the red hair and the freckles... And the big ears." He joked and that got Kelsey laughing even harder. "I didn't notice that until now oh my goodness. And the green sweater!! Ahh Hahaha, that's fucking great..." she said in between short breaths.
"Laugh all ya like I'll figure out a nickname for you and it'll be even funnier than yours I promise you that Kelsey Parker." Just as she was calming down she looked up, "My middle name is a guy's name if ya wanna start there?" Jarrett looked shocked, " A guy's name?" She nodded, "My mother hates me I swear. Kelsey Derek Parker. That's my whole damn name, and since I'm an actress I have to put that on my headshots etc. Everyone in the school thought for a while the "D" was Desiree. I told them it was daddy. Why not freak them out."
Jarrett smiled, "My full name is such a mouthful. My parents fought too much about it, they decided to give me both names. Jarrett Jay Burton-Parker is what they thought initially but my mother had to be a cunt about it. Jarrett Jay Michael Harrison Burton-Parker. She had to get both her father's name, then his father's on my certificate." he took a breath, "Mum now just calls me Jay since that's what she wanted. Father calls me Burton 'cause I'm still a Burton man even if it's not my full last name."
"And I call ya Ears, it works out I don't gotta call ya that long ass name." She said a hand combing through her short brown hair. "Mom never told me why Derek is my middle name. But I don't think I wanna know. Now, this damn whiskey is getting to me. I have a tank top on under my button up before you flip. " She said while unbuttoning her flannel shirt, "Too warm in here for me." She whispered as she threw her shirt in the direction of her Jacket.
"Soo Ears. Tell me a little bit about yourself. I just had a breakdown in front of you. It's only fair..." Her hand came up to one of her dimple piercings playing with it while smiling. "There's not much you can't figure out really. Over in Ireland I was a dweeb kid who got straight A's and was in chorus and Drama club. Parents sent me here to live in some shitty ass hotel and go to school and become some great actor or something. I don't even really act, I prefer singing. I starred in every musical we ever did back home. I'm most likely gonna be the dweeb kid who gets straight A's here with the occasional suspension. You seem like you're gonna be trouble Miss Parker."
Kelsey scoffed, "You know it. And that's if you stick around me long enough. But even in a short ammount of time I'm sure I'll still be trouble." She stopped playing with her piercing when she heard the front door slam, "KELSEY DEREK PARKER I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU WEREN'T GONNA SKIP SCHOOL. THAT PRINCIPAL OF YOURS THAT'S IN LOVE WITH YOU PAYS FOR YOUR EVERYTHING OVER THERE AND YOU TAKE IT FOR GRANTED? YOU'RE SO UNGRATEFUL." Her mother's voice echoing throughout the cheap apartment.
Kelsey darted for her recordplayer and lifted the needle to stop the music and quickly locked her door. "Grab the whiskey." she whispered harshly and grabbed at her jacket and button up. "Mother likes to be loud, then drunk, then violent sometimes. I don't want to deal with that tonight, not after the amazing day I've had. Not to mention, you're here, don't want you getting bored on me Ears." she quickly put on her layers and went to her window, "Mom thought I was being funny when I said I wanted the room with a fire escape. I use it more than I thought I would."Her door knob shifted which caused Kelsey to work even faster. She finally got the window up and climbed out "C'mon Irish man, you've got the booze yeah?" he nodded grip tightening at the cheap whiskeybottle in his hand. It took him a bit to climb through the window, his long limbs making him even more akward than normal. As soon as he was out on the escape Kelsey closed her drapes and then the window, "Maybe she'll think I just walked to school, I have before. Unless O'Brien called again. Mother keeps thinking that him and I are in love. Nope. Ha. I'm not even in love with my boyfriend thingy that I've got going on. I've never been in love and I sure as hell don't plan on it. I have my booze and my acting. I'll be fine considerably alone." Her words as quiet as her steps down the metal ladder.
Jarrett kept quiet handing her the bottle on the way down, his feet finally on the ground again. The cold air making his nose just a bit red. They voyaged onto her car, silently leaving the apartment building areas. "You wanna go somewhere fucking cool and get a little tipsy and stoned? I don't live far from Coney Island and my pot is in my glove box?" Jarrett smiled, " I've never been on a rollercoaster in my life, so me doing it stoned would be an interesting expereince wouldn't it be Miss Parker?" Kelsey nodded and turned up her radio, "Let's fucking do this! Woo!" The Beatles song 'Revolution' blasting through her speakers.
