Olivia's P.O.V.
I looked over at Brylee and her mouth was wide open. I've never seen her so starstruck before, usually she's the cool, calm, collected one.
Looking over at Ruby, a feeling of confusion fell over me. She looked extremely pissed off and had no intentions of hiding it.. at least not at the moment. I started tensing up. This wasn't good. I can tell you one thing though, I'd never wanna make Ruby mad. The face she has right now could make a grown man cry. Man, I really need this to not be happening right now.
I snapped out of my thoughts when Ruby marched towards one of the security guards, to whisper something in his ear. He glanced over towards us, and then towards the group of girls from earlier while nodding his head. Shit, this really isn't good. I need to do something.
"Brylee, stay here for a sec okay?" she nodded her head.
I walked over to where Ruby and the security guard were, to try and explain the situation from earlier.
"Um... i'm really sorry to interrupt, I just noticed that things seemed a little uneasy and noticed you guys looking at my sister and I. There was a little bit of a situation that happened from earlier with some of the other girls, who were waiting backstage with us, but it's nothing serious. It doesn't matter really... I just don't want to cause any trouble, and i'm sorry if we did something to make anyone angry." I felt bad because this was just supposed to be easy. We'd meet Ruby, go home and remember this experience forever. But nope. Of course not.
"Oh! No sweetheart", Ruby says as she strokes my arm with her hand, "it's not you or your sister. It's those girls over there that I have a problem with. You and your sister handled them with extreme maturity. All three of them are older than you and your sister, and they should know better."
My arm was tingling from her touch, as I got lost in her Australian accent. Was this woman even real?
"Wait... how did you..." I'm so confused right now. How did she know how old we were, and how did she know what happened earlier?
She grinned at me with her blue eyes. If looks could kill i'd be dead by now.
"Well I have my ways" she said with a wink. What the fuck? Does she work for the CIA or something?
"Oh..."
She started whispering to the security guard again, so I decided to make my way back over to Brylee. However, as soon as I took a step away from Ruby, she'd grabbed a hold of my wrist. Ow, ow, ow. I tried to ignore the pain from her grip on my wrist by examining her arm, which was covered in tattoos. If anyone can pull this look off, it's definitely her.
She talked with the guard for about five more minutes, and then they started walking towards the three girls with me trailing behind Ruby. She still wouldn't let me go which I found to be a little odd, but by now her grasp had caused my wrist to go numb so it didn't hurt anymore.
"Ruby... Ow" I whispered behind her hoping she heard me. I think she did because her grip loosened up.
"Excuse me? You're all here to meet me, correct?" She said to the three girls, grabbing their attention. I have a feeling that this won't be pretty. I hid behind her as best I could, the only visible part of me was my wrist in Ruby's grip. I silently groaned to myself. Why did we have to do this right now?
I looked back to see that Brylee had a confused look on her face. I shrugged my shoulders as if to tell her, "I have no idea", and then turned my head back around, focusing on what was happening in front of me.
"Who the hell do you think you are? If you girls were really true fans of mine, you would've known that the one thing I can't stand is people putting other people down. Do you even know this young woman's name?" Ruby pulled me out from behind so that I was standing right beside her. The three girls started to look nervous as they shook their heads no.
"Then why the fuck would you put in the effort to put someone else down? Who gave you the right to be a bitch to two sisters, who were just enjoying a motherfucking cupcake? And yeah! I don't blame them for enjoying their cupcakes because guess what? I had one earlier and they happen to be the best damn cupcakes I've ever had. Does that make me any of the names that you called these girls from earlier true? No! Of course not. They're beautiful." She was getting louder with every word that slipped from those gorgeous lips.
"Ruby, really it's okay it's not that big of a deal i promise." I could feel my blood pressure rising up. You could cut the tension in here with a knife.
"No it's not babe." She tells me as she looks at my face for a brief second. Then she turned back toward the girls. "You and your little crew can get the hell out of here. Your passes are non refundable. The exit's that way. I've got no time for people like yourselves." Damn. She's a badass.
The three girls looked at me with tears streaming down their cheeks, as they all ran towards the exit sign. I kinda felt bad. But then again, they did make fun of my sister and that's just something you don't do. Karma's a bitch.
One question still teased my mind though. How did Ruby know?
When the girls left, Ruby let go of my wrist and turned me so that I was facing her. Apparently, she seemed to have no problem touching people she barely knew. But hey...i'm not complaining. She sticks her hand out to introduce herself.
"Hi beautiful, i'm Ruby Rose."
I took her hand in mine and smiled, feeling heat rise in my cheeks.
"Hi... i-i'm Olivia.." We stared into other's eyes for what seemed like forever. It felt like she was peaking straight into my soul, which was a really scary feeling. I couldn't look away. Her eyes were so.. seductive and full of mystery. I can't believe i'm saying this but it's a good thing we're in public. Not that she would try anything anyways. I mean i'm nothing to stare at and I'm sure she's surrounded by models 24/7.
My cell phone started to ring, jolting me from her gaze. Ugh. Evan.
"I'm really sorry, I have to take this." She smiled as she let me have my hand back. It sort of made me sad that I wasn't touching her anymore...
What is going on with me?
"Hello?"
"Where the hell are you?" Evan immediately started shouting at me.
"You know where I am... at the concert with Brylee?" Is he really that stupid?
"It doesn't take four hours to be at a fucking concert, where are you really at?"
"Well actually I am still at the concert. I got us both backstage passes. So what's supposed to be an amazing night for my sister is turning into a shit show, because my boyfriend is acting like an asshole and won't leave me alone for a few hours to enjoy the night with my baby sister."
"You know what? Have fun. I hope you have a great time fucking some other guy."
"Evan wha-"
"Fuck off."
I stood there, listening to the dial tone as the line went dead.
What just happened? I've been with this guy for three years, and he treats me this way? What did I ever do to deserve this?
I didn't know I was crying until I felt something wet drip on my hand. This was so embarrassing. I couldn't let them see me like this. Feeling panic start to rush over me, I decided to briefly make my way over to the bathroom, hoping no one would notice me being gone for a few minutes.
I feel so worthless. Maybe I am a horrible person. Maybe it is me.
Locking myself in a stall, I started to cry heavy sobs letting it all out. I heard the bathroom door open and tried to be as quiet as I could, but when I heard the person's footsteps getting louder and louder, it was hard to keep my sniffles quiet. Just breath Olivia, in and out. You're okay. I kept telling myself.
Just when I thought I was calm enough to come out, the person stopped walking...directly in front of my stall.
"Olivia?" A familiar Australian accent called after me.
Shit.
