Shawn Michaels was not a happy man. Two months ago some of his best friends, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, had left for the rival company WCW. "Of course they left me! Everybody always does." Shawn muttered to himself as he ordered another round of shots for himself.Shawn Michaels, for all the arrogance and confidence he showed in the ring, was always a bit insecure about himself.
In the locker room he was one of the most hated wrestlers there, mostly by his own doing admittedly but it didn't mean that sometimes it hurt. The other wrestlers constantly muttered and cursed at him, not wanting to work with a back stabbing, politicking, drug abusing, asshole like Shawn.
He'd of course never let anyone know that their words hurt him responding with nasty lines, juvenile jesters, and over cocky behaviours after and before each match. He could also never keep his mouth shut constantly getting himself heat with the boys and into brawls with anyone and everyone whether it be backstage or at a bar.
The heat had started originally with the allow but now on his own with only Hunter Hearst Helmsley everything had gotten much worse. Generally Hunter would have came with him to make sure he didn't get beaten up or drink so much he couldn't get back to the hotel. (Which he would now admit he was well on his way to being that drunk.) Tonight, however, Hunter and Shawn had fought over the pills that were residing in Shawn's front pocket of his leather jacket.
By now Shawn has taken enough of those that he was very high along with being drunk but it wasn't like he could stop. He'd never admit it to himself but he had a problem with the pills taking them all the time so that he never had to feel anything.
Hunter had confronted Shawn about his pain pill addiction and Shawn had quickly lost his infamously short temper screaming at Hunter that he was just hanging around Shawn for a push and didn't give a damn about him so he could just move his little jobber ass along.
It was at that point that Hunter had decided he had had enough and left him in the parking lot of the arena alone.
"Fuck Hunter" Shawn thought. "I don't have an addiction to those pills. I need to take them so I can wrestle and work. I could stop any fucking time I wanted so what does he know. It's not like their the worst drug I've ever had. Fuck him. Don't need him."
Attempting to stand so that he could go back towards the hotel Shawn stumbled and fell into someone knocking them both to the ground with him on top of them.
Looking down at who he had landed on Shawn noticed a pair of bright hazel eyes and framed by curly blonde hair that was loose down the side of the woman's body.
He grinned slightly. This was perfect. Another thing about Shawn. He loved women. Lots of women and he didn't care if he broke their hearts in the process. A one night stand and then goodbye. It didn't matter if they were married, in a relationship, younger, older, a virgin, a colleague, or dating someone he knew. It wouldn't make any difference to him. They were just another notch in his bed post.
The woman below him was perfect for tonight. She was gorgeous and looked like she was easy to seduce.
"Hi sweetheart. Sorry for knocking you down like this. Let me buy you a drink." Shawn slurred attempting to get up but struggling due to how intoxicated he was.
The girl under him sighed slightly which Shawn took as a good sign and helped him to his feet. "Let's go back to your hotel." She spoke her voice making his insides turn. (Or maybe it was the alcohol)
He slurred out the name of the hotel and they walked their together with him leaning on her so that he could stand and walk properly.
They made it to his hotel room and he leaned in to kiss her when she pulled back. "Sorry hun, it's not that your not attractive, because trust me you are, but I'm not up for being anyone's one night stand especially some drunk guy I met in the bar. You just looked like you were gonna need some help getting back here or you might be sleeping on the streets."
By this point Shawn's high was coming down and the alcohol was making him tired so he didn't put up much of a fuss as she stripped him down to his boxers and laid him in his bed with a glass of water and an aspirin for when he would wake up. She was turning to leave when Shawn felt a sense of panic.
He hated being alone. He would never admit it to anyone but he couldn't avoid it in his head. After sex the girl would generally stay the night and he wouldn't have to be alone. Another great thing about one night stands. On the nights he was alone he would wake up drenched in sweat and scared or just never get to sleep at all.
"Wait" he muttered "Please, stay tonight."
The girl stopped and looked at him before nodding and combing under the covers not even questioning him. She wrapped her arms around him and he moved so that he was snuggled as close to her as he could go.
For the first time that night Shawn felt a sense of love and comfort that he had never felt before. He felt safe and warm and happy for the first time in as long as he could remember. His last thought that night was "This feels perfect. I never want it to end."

2004"We are now landing in San Antonio Texas. Thank you for riding with us!" The plane overhead spoke waking Shawn Michaels from his dream state.
He shook his head to clear his thoughts although hazel eyes were still in his head. "I've got to stop thinking about her! I've got a son and a beautiful wife who love me. I messed up that relationship with my mistake. I can't mess up this one too. Eve is gone now I need to move on."
Eve Tyler was the most beautiful woman Shawn had ever met inside and out. She had saved him from he bar in 1996 and helped throughout everything else he went through at that time but one bad mistake ruined it all.
She had taught him to love and he broke her heart and his in the process. When he found Rebecca he thought of it as his second chance and tried to love her as much as he loved Eve but it seemed impossible. Even so he did love her and their son Cameron and couldn't wait to get home and see his five year old and wife.
When he finally got off the plane, into a cab, and arrived at home he noticed something. There was another at in the driveway. He didn't think much of it. He was a day early home. Maybe Rebecca had some friends over.
When he walked in the house it was quiet which was unusual with a five year old. "Maybe he was out at a friends." Shawn thought before hearing a thump upstairs. Curious he went to check it out.
He went to the door to his and his wife's room where the noise had came from and opened the door before gasping in shock. There was his wife naked and straddling a blonde haired man moaning.
At the sound of the gasp she turned towards the door where her husband was standing in shock her mouth forming a surprised o before she said in a slightly nervous and shocked voice "Shawn?"

Yay the prologue for my new story is done!!! The story will follow both Eve and Shawn's relationship in the 90's as well as his life in 2004. I know this is kind of long for a prologue but this all needed to kind of happen before the first chapter where the story really begins.
