The Invisible Girl

She walks through life
In a haze of pain
Self-created
Stomach, wrists, thighs
When it becomes too much
She locks herself in a bathroom stall
And slices away
Till she feels numb
Then she goes back to class
Sits there
And just lets the pain was over her
Telling herself she deserves it
And no one notices
No one asks
Even after she stops hiding it
And figures she can blame the cat
They don't see it
They don't see the darkness
That she hides behind her eyes
And she wants it to be that way
Because society taught her that being depressed means there's something wrong with you
She knows she has no right to feel the way she does
And it makes her hate herself even more
So she continues to destroy her body
And if the body is a temple
Then hers is in bad need of repairs
And she doesn't have many scars
So no one think her pain is a big deal
But what they don't understand
Is that she is careful
Because she doesn't want her pain to show
And she can't cry
Because society taught her that crying is weak
So she hates herself
And gets worse everyday
And nobody sees
She's just an invisible girl
Sitting in a crowded classroom
All alone
