The Black Night

As day turns to night,

As blue turns to black,

I bid you farewell

And to you I turn my back.

I didn’t want to see you,

Or memories of the past,

I don’t need a flashback,

To what I called my life.

It pains me to go,

But I hope you understand.

Remember what I said,

“I’ll love you till death do us part.”

I have to move on.

With or without you,

I have to give up,

All the times and memories I shared with you.

You are my past.

I focus on the future.

So as I walk out,

To seek comfort in the black blanket,

Don’t look for me for I am lost to you forever.

In the black night that comforts me.
