Knocking.
"Hnnngh." I grunt, rolling over and flapping my hand mid air. "Five more minutes."
"Charm." The male voice has a hint of impatience, but monotone otherwise.
I groan and sit up, my wings stretching out fully as I wake.
"I'm up, I'm up." I grumble, opening my eyes before running my hands through shocking red hair as I throw the door open- revealing Zero.
"Felicity has called us on a mission." He says flatly, stepping aside to let me through. His black cloak accented with purple at the sleeves and the edges do nothing to help the paleness of Zeros skin blend in- if anything they announce the fact. His ears are pale and pointy- just like an elfs should be.
"Is there no one else." I yawn, picking up my bow and slinging it to my back, along with a scythe that I attach to a sheath.
"Everyone else is dealing with the festival." Zero explains in a bored tone.
"Ugh, fine. Be down in five." I shoo him away and he rolls his eyes before climbing down the ladder. Throwing my own navy cloak on I run to the balcony and jump off- soaring to the spot where Zero stands.
"Let's go!" I say brightly, setting off from my tree house with a disgruntled Zero.
"You attending the festival?" I ask, trying to break the steel like silence. All Zero does is grunt.
"Too many people."
"You need to socialise." I whine, "stop living in your shrub."
"It's not a shrub." He grunts again as we turn the corner.
"It's a shrub." I reply seriously.
He sighs but as he goes to open his mouth again a man rather rudely shoulders past him as well as a group of people.
Zero scowls briefly as two- a dark skinned man with equally wings and a slight woman in a blue jacket- a shackle clinking along on her boot- enter the Guild hall.
As they disappear into the guild hall Zero opens the door for me.
"Ladies first."
I huff and enter- closing my wings tightly in order to get in the door.
The woman is there, a book in her hand. She looks up, blue eyes examining us before she returns to the book- disinterested.
"Hello," I say pleasantly and she looks up again, "who are you?"
"The Cap'n." She says shortly and she turns her back on us- a raccoon tail swinging behind her.
"Rude." I mutter before jumping up the stairs.
"I'll get that book Felicity. The easy way or the hard way." The dark skinned man is speaking threateningly to the Guild leader- Felicity.
"I look forward to your attempt." She says back, her voice two chips of ice.
"Zero! Charm." The man shoulders past us- green eyes burning with anger.
"I need you two to go on a mission- to the cave up on the east hill. There's been a reporting of ogres."
I whine, my shoulders slumping, "I hate caves!"
