                                                                    Chapter 1

Rachel's my name, but most know me as Raven. My father and mother started calling me Raven at the age of 4 and never called me Rachel ever since. My father was the evil demon himself, Trigon. I was once a member of the Teen Titans, but that was 6 years ago. We split up and went our own ways after defeating my evil father.

I'm 20 years old now, I haven't fought any villains in a while, I still meditate every once in a while to keep my powers in check. But I'm starting to think I could start up the whole 'hero' thing again. I moved to Gotham to start somewhere fresh and new. I had saved up all of my money and bought a really nice mansion. The problem is that it's very lonesome and quiet there. Maybe a few pets shall do...

Hopping onto my jet black motorcycle, I put my helmet on and put it into gear, lift up the kick-stand with my foot and drive off to the pound. Forgetting that I probably wouldn't be able to keep an animal on my motorcycle, I curse under my breath and turn around. I get off, turn its engine off and get into my brand new violet mustang and slam the door in frustration. Turns out, the pound wasn't too far away and I park there in 15 minutes top.

I could hear a bunch of barking as I walked in. I walked over to the front desk,"Excuse me," I say. "I'd like to adopt a few animals."

The lady tilts her heading, showing a little nod and sets her newspaper down. Taking out a key, she unlocks a door and lets me in first and lets me browse the animals. There were so many to choose from, there were beautiful Bengal cats, to broad Husky dogs. I decide to buy a black cat, a Bengal, Husky and a German Shepherd. The price for the four of them was expensive, but I still had plenty of money left over to buy their supplies.

After that, I went to Petsmart and bought them each a collar and a leash for the dogs, as well as toys, food, bowls, litter-boxes (for the cats), and other necessities that they needed. I loaded it all into the shopping cart and tossed some treats in and bought it all, then load it into my car's trunk. The dogs wagged their tails as they sat in the backseat and stuck their heads out of the window, feeling the breeze flowing by them. The cats curled up in the seat next to me and purred happily.

A/N: Yeah, yeah I know that was extremely boring and such, but it'll get interesting.
