One night that changed everything. One night that changed my life, and I could never change it.

Flashback-

"But Taaaayllorrr." my best friend Cat says.

"I said no." I say.

"But its the end of the year party before we're seniors! Come on you have too." Cat nudging me.

"Noooooo. Boo, I know you want me to come but, that doesn't mean you can't ask nicely." I said laughing a little.

"Will you please come with your best friend to one of the greatest parties of the year! Come on your boyfriend will be there." Cat says nudging me.

"He's not my boyfriend." I said smirking.

"But, he's your imaginary boyfriend! Come on you can fantasize over him the whole night." Cat says shaking her curly brown hair out of her high ponytail.

"Ugh, fine. But, if something happens it's your fault." I said groaning.

"Yay! I'm so excited!" Cat says running around the Cafeteria.

I duck my head underneath my arms and pray to god she doesn't scream anything.

"Ugh. Thanks alot." A guy says, and I look up to see Cat running into a guy and spilling all of his ketchup on his Football Jersey. It was Braydon Smith. My Imaginary boyfriend. She looks up underneath her rayban glasses, and says,

"S-Sorry. I was just excited. I'll go now."

"Wait. Aren't you Taylor's friend?" Bradon says.

Did he just say Taylor's Friend? I look up at them and then I see Cat pointing at me. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. He's walking over. He's sitting infront of me. He's talking to me.

"Hello, Taylor." Braydon says.

"Uh- Hi." I said feeling the heat rise up on my cheeks.

"Are you coming to my party tonight?" Braydon asks.

"Of course I am!" I say with TOO much enthusiasm.

"Good. I hope to see you there." Braydon says before hopping up and walking over to Cat and apologizing. 

Ugh. He was so sweet. But, listen he would never date a girl like me. Atleast I didn't think so.

We arrived at the party at around 7:00 pm and watched as no one got there. We were at Braydon's house alone. Braydon came up behind me and breathed in my ear,

"You know no one else is coming?"

I turn around and stared at him, "What do you mean no one else is coming?"

"This party is for you and I alone. Tell your friend to leave." Braydon says nodding his head at Cat.

"I'm not going to tell my best friend to leave... And I'm not staying here all alone with you. I hardly know you." I said harshly whispering.

"Oh, I think you want to know me, Miss. Braydon's My Imaginary Boyfriend." He says smirking.

Wait. How did he know that? I snap me head over to look over at Cat, and then I pull her around the corner.

"You told him.. How could you?!" I pratically screamed.

"I'm sorry." Cat says.

"Whatever..." I say walking outside.

I smelled SMOKE. And noticed that I was in my neighborhood. I followed the smoke while keeping my jacket pulled over my mouth until I was in front of the house. My House. My little brother, my mom, and my dad were still inside. Both their cars were outside. That's when my house collapsed. And they were gone. Gone with a flash. Burned to their corpses. I shook my head at the thought of losing my family was just a dream, until I realized it was the Truth. I ran as fast as I could. I wasn't going to be taken from my friends. Actually scratch that. I had no one. So what's the point of running? The social services were going to find me anyways so, why don't I just go there myself. I started walking to the office which was only 10 minutes away, and then when I got there.. It had one little light on in the front. I opened the door to hear a slight ping, and the older lady at the counter looked up at me and said,

"How may I help you young lady?"

I don't know how I was supposed to explain this..."I just witnessed my house collapsing from a fire.. And my whole family was in there... I'm an orphan. I kind of need a house." I say looking up from my white converse.

"Ahh.. I'm so sorry sweetie. Let's see. It might take a few days to find a set home in here. But, we could set you up in a house away from here.. In a different state." She says taking a sip of water.

"Anything to get away from here." I said frowning.

"Okay we have one house available in Cape Cod, Massachusetts." She says.

"Wow, that's far away considering we live in Tennessee. Okay, set me up there please." I smirk politely.

"Are you sure. Do you want to know how many people live there? And what-not?" She asks.

I shake my head. I wanted it to be a surprise. I look up at her and she smiles. I hope to my mom, and my dad, and my brother that I would be fine. I couldn't stand Tennessee.

She tells me to fill out this paperwork and then I'm on my way to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
