“Hey! You’ve got Katie. I’m probably either at a pageant, or with my amazing boyfriend Luke. Leave a message and I'll call you back!”
Beep.
"Hey, Katie! I have good news. Such good news."
There was cheering in the background mingled with laughter and conversation.
"Guys, shut up! I'm on the phone!"
The noise quieted down, and then the speaker chuckled goodheartedly.
"You'll never guess what happened. I'm going on tour! Me and the guys. This is such a dream come true. We're leaving in a few days. I know you're at a pageant right now, but call me when you can."
There was a short pause.
"I love you so much."
Beep.
