Now Ember lived in this bubble surrounded by the brightly colored fish, and oddly-shaped coral along the rocky sand under the sea. She went to a middle school in the northeast wing there were 8 wings of schools. Each wing had an elementary, middle school, and high school, with an exception of 2 colleges. And once you got out of high school you could go to any college in any wing.
Each wing also had a local grocery store, hospital, and bank, but they all had different jobs and shops in each section so that there would be a wide range of jobs to choose from. Although, there was one job that was really risky, and that was the LSU, (and no, not the university) the Land Scouts United.
Ember wanted to be a part of the LSU, like her father, he was also one of the first to make it up to the surface without dying at the fastest pace. All the others had died trying to train as fast as he could. They had been killed by the amount of pressure change as quickly as they had endured. Like her father, she wanted to accomplish something, she would be the first to find solid ground, much like Christopher Columbus finding North America.
To have this job you didn't have to have as much smarts as bravery, but also had to be able to read maps and know what direction you had gone and we're going. It was sort of a military, but now that all the earth's people had been shoved into one place, they no longer had to defend themselves. They we're put into a force to once again live above the water. To be an LSU you had to be 15, and had to do a lot of training and live on the bases until you were trained enough to move to the next one. Then the next, and the next base and up to the six bases to the surface. The training took months, even years to complete.
Each base is equipped with a sort of elevator that slowly raises you to the next base. And the training you do is to be prepared for any sort of survival situation and also so that the people can get used to the pressure.
Ember wanted to see her dad again, and be an explorer, she was anything but disinterested on the world above. It was always hard for her to stay in one place, she was always wanting to see more, do more, find something no one else had. So it was ideal that she wanted to be a part of the LSU, and her mom would have to let her go.
Ember still wanted to be an LSU even if she had to push and shove her way into it, she was going to try at least to be the best so she could join. Ember was determined, and it was hard to stop her once she had her mind set on something.

I had to adjust a few things that weren't important, but besides that it should remain the same. I also recently changed the character's names so sorry if you don't like the new ones, but I like them better now. I shouldn't be changing anything else drastically, just minor adjustments. :D
Thanks for reading this and continue on reading, I hope you like it, and if you have anything to say about it (it may be negative, however, I would appreciate if it was constructive criticism instead of all out hate) then feel free to type it in the conversation/comment section.
