chapter two

"Homework again?" the students shouted in unison.

The teacher nodded. "If you guys want to get into a good college, I suggest you all should work harder. Everyone should be more like Park Haeun."

All heads turned towards Park Haeun, the smartest student, yet the most hated.

You must be wondering why everyone hates Haeun. Haeun is just a sweet, smart, yet innocent young girl. She has done nothing wrong to anyone, nor hurt anyone.

"Your homework is to do an essay about the book we are reading currently..." the teacher continued talking when a paper ball hit the back of Haeun's head.

Haeun flinched and turned around.

Sohee was sitting behind her as Haeun glared at Sohee.

"What? I didn't throw the paper ball, stop glaring at me, ugly," spitted out.

Haeun frowned as she turned back around. 'I know this would've happened,' she thought to herself.

"Well that's it. Class is over!" the teacher shouted.

Everyone got up, quickly leaving the room.

Haeun sat there blankly. She didn't completely listen to the teacher on what the homework was.

Haeun got up, packed everything up and walked out of the classroom. She knew if she asked the teacher, the teacher would yell at her for not paying attention.

Haeun saw Sohee walking by herself.

Haeun ran up to Sohee, slightly nudging her. "Did you remember what the homework was?"

Sohee was scoffed. "The top student in our class doesn't even know what the homework is."

Haeun stuttered. "I-I wasn't listening."

Sohee started cackling. "Then next time listen. The homework is for you to go drown yourself."

Haeun suddenly stopped walking as Sohee just continued walking.

This isn't anything new for Haeun. Sohee would always make threatening comments, insulting comments, and sometimes try to get a little bit physical.

Haeun was only close to Sohee, her own bully.

Haeun felt someone slightly nudge her.

"Lee Taeyong?" Haeun eyes widen.

"The homework is to write the essay about the whole book, with 3 different key details." Taeyong gave a slight smile.
"Thank you," Haeun said, coldly.

Taeyong just chuckled. "It's no problem!"

Haeun never really talked to Taeyong, but she really thought Taeyong was handsome.

In the middle of the class, she would sometimes study Taeyong's pretty features. Even if she shows her cold personality to him.

Taeyong was probably the only one in the class that doesn't hate Haeun.
Taeyong actually secretly like Haeun, besides all the hate she gets.

Haeun and Taeyong continued walking together until one of Taeyong's friends drove him away.

"Yah! Why are you hanging with her? Nobody likes her. You wanna be like her too?" Haeun overhead Taeyong's friend.
