She darted to the car, not looking back.

"SPENCER!"

It was her fault. All of it. She'd been so caught up with Freddie that she tossed her brother aside. What if he...

No. It wasn't going to end like this.

"SPENCER!"

She saw paramedics lifting his body onto a stretcher and placing him in an ambulance.

"Wait! I'm his sister!"

The paramedics let her in and shut the door.

Carly waited in the hospital lobby, distraught.

"Ms. Shay," a nurse called out. Carly arose from her seat. "Your brother is in room 4C. Word is the collision was not his fault. He was hit by the other civilian. You may see him now if you'd like. He's heavily sedated, so he won't be conscious for a few hours."

"Thank you so much, ma'am."

She walked to Spencer's room. He received a blow to the head and broke his arm, but thankfully, not anything else. She put her head on his chest, rubbing him with her hand.

"I'm sorry, Spencer," she whispered, a tear streaking down her face. An hour later, she was informed that her friends were there to support her and see how Spencer was doing.

I should apologize to Sam and Freddie for acting stupid.

However, when she got to the lobby, she saw it. She'd finally understood why Freddie was holding back.
