No Hope Left!
There are far too many things in this world that make me lose all hope in this permanent death trap we all have to live on because in the millions of years this planet has existed we couldn't figure out how to escape to Mars or safely get past the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. There's news anchors telling people to "Get a gun, buy one legally and learn how to use it!". Do you even need to buy a gun in America, I thought they were just lying around somewhere, well everywhere except Columbine High School, or maybe at Isla Vista, or maybe even Virginia Tech or any other mass shooting in America. The fact we have maniacs killing anyone in sight, fascistic demagogues capitalising on all of this to gain votes in an election so messed up they have only one feasible candidate, Mr Bernie Sanders, who is also just as bad as the Clinton or Cruz. No wonder that man's moved to the moon on that poxy, stupid John Lewis advert, it's probably the safest place to be right now because down here, down here it's just carnage and despair and misery and I just want it to stop or at least there should be something to take my mind off of all this horrific news.
But there isn't. There's nothing. Nothing to stop these stories flooding through our screens. Whether it's on a television or a smartphone all of this gruesome and frightful stories are being fed to us by our devices, which by 2016 are pretty much controlling us. I've walked down Union Street at eight in the morning and I swear 70% of people there are using a phone in some way. Not that I'm any better mind but at least I know when to stop.
Even the migrant crisis wasn't looked at and reported correctly and unbiased until a 3 year old child, Aylan Kurdi, appeared dead on a beach in Turkey. The tabloid press used the headlines "THE SWARM ON OUR STREETS!" or even just "MIGRANT INVASION!" what about "MIGRANTS MILKING BRITAIN'S BENEFITS!". Shows that we are still racist to the core as a nation and as a culture. We acted as if these people who were escaping the proxy war, the civil war, the humanitarian crisis and an ideological conflict meant nothing. The second that kid turned up dead the papers shouted at our favourite alleged pig pumper, The Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, David Cameron to do something about it. Even fiery pepper pot, our First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon "convinced" him to take 20,000 migrants over 5 years. Germany have taken 25 times that in the space of nine months. David Cameron is now saying we won't take anymore migrants leaving possibly millions of people fighting their way through the Balkan States to never see a better time.
The second the Paris Attacks happened back in November of 2015 we all needed someone to blame, because obviously we didn't cause this by bombing INNOCENT people in Iraq and Syria along with angering ISIL by bombing their strongholds in those countries. Immediately the papers went back to blaming migrants and said "We should lock down our borders". Even when the Brussel's attacks happened we said that. Why didn't we say that after Kenya, after Nigeria, after Syria. We don't because we don't care about those countries. I'm sure you've thought about donating to Unicef or to Save The Children but we don't. My gran used to say "Charity starts at home", she might be right with that but surely then she would help homeless people? No? Well surely she'd at least donate money to local charities like Social Bite? No? No of course she doesn't because she's only human.
Remember Walter Palmer? No, well let me jog your memory. Walter Palmer was a dentist who went hunting, with a legal permit forgetting it's an immoral thing to do. He killed a lion called Cecil. Cecil was famous for something but he had been to over 100 openings of Ghazals. Palmer didn't even give Cecil a "I was a brave Lion today" sticker. Nope he just deaded the thing. He killed Cecil because he could and the whole internet lost it. The internet had a meltdown at Cecil's death. Not the death of innocent people when the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany or even Canada bombed ISIL or Al-Qaeda targets and got it wrong. Not when we torture innocent people like Jarat Gul in Guantanamo Bay. No that's just a mistake but when a man goes and legally kills a lion he's "The worst Human in existence". So this dentist is worse than Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Kim-Jung Un, Josef Stalin or even Saddam Hussain.
