He stands in the hall, not knowing what to do.
Looks at his hand, finding his clue.He gets on one knee, doing as he should.
Crying, he tells her, "I love you,"Her face lights up, with tears brimming her eyes.
She lets out a sob, and he gives her a sigh."Let's make our love permanent, with a ring and vow,"
He slips in onto her slender, shaky finger.
Taking her into his embrace, he sobs into a smile.
He goes to kiss her, and as her lips reach his, she whispers,"Wake up, love."
